Zhongyuan Mandarine,Jianghuai Mandarine and Wu Dialect spread from north to the south of the Jiangsu Province.There has been a large amount of researches on the boundaries of the Mandarine and Wu Dialect,while much fewer on those of the Zhongyuan Mandarine and Jianghuai Mandarine.The studies on the nothern dialects appear to be more descriptive,however,the descriptive studies on the dialects enter ing into the stage of comparative research is a trend nowadays.Only by the way of comparison can display the characteristics and differences of the dialects.Therefore,this dissertation generally focuses on the phonetics of the dialects spreading in the Lianyungang city from the perspective of geographical linguistics.Based on the field work,this dissertation specifies the sililarities and differences of the linguistic facts,withdraws some language features,investigates the types and distribution of the language characteristics,the differences of the phonologic structure,language interpenetration on the dialects boundaries,the reservation and change of the language characteristics.Then the dissertation explores the influences of the natural and humanistic factors on the language.Cast an eye on the phonetic system with a historical viewpoint,the dissertation analyses the phonetic levels and origins of the different times and their overlays.With the references of the ancient phonetic systems can we further clarify its formation history.On the basis of the existing studies on the dialects and Chinese phonologic history,mainly on recent field work,the dissertation applies the theories and methods of geographical linguistics,dialectology,historical linguistics and social linguistics,studies more than eighty places of the Zhongyuan Mandarine and Jianghuai Mandarine in Lianyungang city,attempts to explain the space-time relations of dialects.The full text can be divided into 7 chapters.The first chapter introduces the geographical environment and administrative evolution,relative research findings,research methods,materials and informants.The second chapter discusses the calssification and division of the initials and is classified into(帮)series,Duan(端)series,Zhi(知)series and Jian(见)series.In the Bang(帮)part,mainly discusses the existing phonetic phenomena that can prove light labial was read heavy labial in ancient times.In the Duan(端)series part,mainly discusses the current pronunciation and division of Jing(精)group initials,the classification of Ni(泥),Niang(娘)and Lai(来)initials.In the Zhi(知)series part,mainly discuss the calssification and division of the initials.In the Jian(见)series part,focuses on the current pronunciation and division of Jian(见)group initials division 3 with medial-i-,the palatanization of the open-mouth division 2,the current Jian-Tuan(尖团)pronunciation and division.Two phonetic topics about apicalization and Fei(非)group and Xiao(晓)group initials are discussed at the end.The third chapter focuses on the finals,its calssification and divisions,contains three sections:vowel finals,nasal consonantal rhymes and entering tones.The differentiation of 果)division 1,Kaikou Ma(麻)rhyme of Jia(假)group,and current pronunciation of Hekou Zhi(止)division 1 with(端)series initials and Xaio(效)and Liu(流)groups division 2 and 3 are discussed in the vowel finals section.The types of main vowels of Xian(咸),Shan(山)Kaikou rhymes,the types of main vowels of(山)Hekou Huan(桓),Shan(山)and Shan(删),the question that whether Xian(仙),Xian(先)and Yuan(元)rthmes are defferentiated from each other,the mix and differentiation between 深),Zhen(臻),Zeng(曾)and Geng(梗)rthmes,the form of final endings,those several questions are especially discussed in the nasal consonantal rhymes section.In the entering tones section,mainly discuss the classification and types and divisions of the entering tones,and the general characteristics of the entering tones in this region.The forth chapter is tone,mainly discuss the constitution,number,tone model and value.The emphasis is the general characteristics of the entering tones.The fifth chapter dicuss the similarities and differences in many phonetic features,seven subdivisions are lined out in this region,the transitional phonetic performance between each dialect subdivision.The sixth chapter studies the dialects’ diachronic formation and change in conjunction with its synchronic distribution.Locate the Lianyungang dialects in the whole Chinese phonologic history.Know its diachronic development and synchronic structure rules by comparison and analyses some phonetic characteristics and single character pronunciation.Judge the forward development from current phonetic difference by case reserches and statistical analyses.Explore the reasons of the language change and formation.The seventh chapter is the conclusion of the full text.
