Using The Internal Compensation Theory In Language To Investigate The Linguistic Distance Of "SanZhou Dialect"--And Concurrently Demonstrate The Comparision Of Diachronic Evolution In "SanZhou Dialect

In Mandarin dialect, eastern Mandarin may cause more different ideas, with complicated language phenomena. Linguists can't reach an agreement about the belonging of eastern Mandarin, because it shares the features of both Mandarin dialect and Wu dialect as a result of its distribution over the transitional area of Mandarin dialect-speaking area and Wu dialect-speaking area. In the same province of Jiangsu, Suzhou dialect, Yangzhou dialect and Xuzhou dialect stand for Wu dialect, eastern Mandarin and Central Plain Mandarin dialect respectively. In order to investigate whether eastern Mandarin is more related to Mandarin dialect or Wu dialect, a comparison is made in this paper among the three dialects. Breaking through the former synchronic study, a new point of view is adopted in this paper, which investigates the vivid internal compensation relation within "SanZhou dialect" by using compensation theory in language itself, so the relation of SanZhou dialect will be decided.This paper consists of four parts.Part one: Introduction.In this part, the study circumstance of the eastern Mandarin belonging ismentioned. It introduces the studying method adopted in this paper-usingcompensation theory in language itself, and the introduction of this theory.Part two: The Jiangsu Dialect-speaking Area and the General Condition of "SanZhou Dialect".According to The Survey of Dialects in Jiangsu Province and Shanghai, a brief introduction is made about the dialect grouping idea in Jiangsu Province. Also it points out the conclusion that Yangzhou dialect and Xuzhou dialect are "sib" is unilateral.In order to get a general knowledge of "SanZhou dialect", this paper introduces the phonetic features of Wii dialect, eastern dialect and Central Plain Mandarin dialect, and it also list the phonology table of Suzhou dialect, Yangzhou dialect and Xuzhou dialect respectively.Part three: The Internal Compensation in Phonetic Layers and the LinguisticDistance of "SanZhou Dialect".The internal compensation in phonetic layers includes the internal compensation in phoneme layers and syllable layers, and the former one is discussed in this paper. The internal compensation in phoneme layers is classified into internal compensation in same-natured phoneme and internal compensation in different-natured phoneme, we talk about the two kinds of internal compensation insegmental phoneme-internal compensation in vowel phoneme and inconsonant phoneme, according to the diachronic evolution of medieval 16 group in "SanZhou dialect" And we also talk about the supra-segmental phoneme-internal compensation in toneme, according to the evolution of tone in Chinese common language and "SanZhou dialect".When studying internal compensation in different-natured phoneme, we discuss the internal compensation between vowel and consonant, the internal compensation between initial and final, and that between timbre phoneme and non-timbre phoneme.Part four: Conclusion.According to the study of the internal compensation in phoneme in "SanZhou dialect" and its diachronic evolution, we can conclude as follows: the internal compensation and diachronic evolution of Yangzhou dialect and Suzhou dialect have a lot in common. And from the history material, we can say eastern Mandarin and Wu dialect had a close relation two thousand years ago. As a conclusion, it's more acceptable to regard eastern Mandarin as a sub-dialect of Wu dialect.
