A more typical De'ang nationality village that is experiencing great cultural and art change—Dongcun has taken as an example to describe the history and reality in the special geographic environment and in the special community culture of this organized system,to describe the change and artists taking part in this change and the thoughts, action of the involved people.I will illustrate the problem of the formation of personal identification from person to community under the background of great change taking place day by day in Dongcun cillage. This dissertation will illustrate the relationship between the motivation, problem of changing county's art and personal identification.I will reveal the law of the relationship between the art change of an ethnic group with a small population and the formation of personal identification. In history,De'ang people's traditional art was formed marked with diversification, closure, stability, religion, margin as unique features. It is surrounded by local major nationalities such as Han people and Dai people for a long time. But for a long period of time people can stubbornly keep strict intermarry within nationality and identification idea of nationality group.Their traditional culture is remained relatively complete.Since the policy of reform-and-open-door was carried out,as a cultural ecological village in only one De'ang nationality populated township in China,Dongcun village as a small closed village has gradually become known by outside people. The traditional art of Dongcun village has changed greatly that covers literature, music, dance, fine art, construct etc. From the first-hand survey data for a long time of Dongcun village,I see how this nationality with the population of less than twenty thousand people keep their traditional art in complete infusion in the mainstream culture. When a closed village was determined as a national, cultural and ecological village, when the traditional art won the identification honor of non-material and non-cultural heritage and by means of shift and duplication,it takes the village become a local national, cultural and ecological' village. The new traditional art has become not only the important base forming villagers' world outlook, become efficient means by which people do social exchange, live a social life and also it has become the basic resource for people to produce art works, become an efficient weapon for people to refuse the old identification. It has become an important force to get people together and form their own identification. Also it is a strategical resource to get political and commercial benefits.Through the research on the change of Dongcun village's national art and comparison with the cultural development of other nationality with a small population I think the reason of the art changes do not sum up simply in modernization. There are more reasons such as citizens' identification, cultural identification, national and nation's identification in the traditional community. For the people living in the society, they have comprehensive demand. They constantly adjust and test the relationship among nature, society and themselves in the cultural consciousness. As a result, new change is produced. The new change,in turn, speeds the pursuit of their own national subjectivity and promotes art to develop and go further.De'ang is one of the nationality with a small population.Take De'ang's national, cultural and ecological village as the research object of art change and personal identification is not common in the existing research. On the other hand, through research in this village the law of art change, its characteristics and personal identification is different from the usual art change. This study examines the art change of nationality with a small population has a certain value.
