genres is musical works category and mode, music genres is a construct that reveal the musical works form and structure, emotional factor and traits. From a large number western musical literature we can see that almost each musical historian's research interest focus on music genres in history of western music research. To some extent, history of western Music is seem to be a history that reflect the music genre's development and change . Overview the status quo for the research on western music genres of china, there is still a trend : based on genres mainly body, emphasize utilize such methods as musical morphological, musical comparaological ,history . And its research field is limited , research's method is relatively simpleness. This trend neglect that researcher should conduct a research by multi-dimension, comprehensive research, and regard music genres as a comprehensive cultural phenomenon. Thus, they can't have a comprehensive understanding for genre's formation and development. Therefore ,this study is going to explore the historical reason that affect western music genres generation and change, through the multi-demension and multi-level ways ,which based on interdiscipline.Besides the introduction, this study was made up of four chapters. The First chapter elaborated the intrinsic factors of music genre's changes. From the concrete music genre's internal structure, this chapter analyzed the music's traits and the relationship between different times. The second chapter analyzed the external factors of music's genres changes. Music genre's formation and the development were not come form the mainly body, it also contained the exterior factors which social phenomenon, historical environment, current economic condition, religious belief and cultural ideological trend had upon it in different time. The third chapter studied clearly the mediating factor of the music genres changes. From the composers themselves, grasping their believes, their survival environment, their individuality and their creation styles, the article deciphered composers' the creation motive and the psychological factors of using the different style.
