Chinese classical poetry,from the beginning of its appearance,was accompanied by the Original Story.With the evolution of literature,the Original Story Criticism also developed gradually.In the foreword of his Original Story Poetry(Benshi Shi),Meng Qi wrote:"Regarding Poetry,there are emotions occur internally and expressed by words.Thus the worry,missing,sadness and melancholy used to be lamented.These fine works of expressing emotions,and conventional words of satire,although recorded in books that occupied shelves and rooms--among these works,those are originated by stories,are especially fancied by the writers-who could know the meanings if these are not explained?" This is the direct beginning of Original Story Criticism.In the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period,the Ci Poetry genre appeared and then matured gradually,the Original Story of Ci Poetry is contained in Ci Tune,Ci Writers and Ci Poetry consequently.Therefore,the searching for the Original Story of Ci Poetry is not only a means for the interpretation of Ci Poetry,but also a method for the explanation of Ci Poetry.Accordingly,this thesis,on the Original Story of Ci Poetry in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period,is based on the philological case studies.Collecting literature about the Original Stories of Ci Tunes,the anecdotes of Ci writers,the Original Stories of Ci Poetries and so on as much as possible,and using the method of Original Story Criticism to reappear the circumstances of composition,singing and transmission of the Ci Poetries in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period as well as possible,it examined the related literature about Original Story of Ci Poetry in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period in a new perspective,and settles some unresolved problems in this research field consequently.In the area of Tang Song Ci Poetry Study,the loss of Ci Music,caused a tremendous difficult to researchers,which is also a bottleneck troubling this study are for a long time.How to explore the origin of Ci Poetry genre from a special layer and excavate various factors influenced the development of Ci Poetry genre is an issue in need of researchers' devoted endeavors.To conduct the researches of Ci Poetry in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period from the perspective of the Original Story's generating and criticism is the direction this thesis would like to try.There are 7 chapters in this thesis.Chapter 1 "Study on the Original Story of Ci Poetry in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period in the perspective of 'context'”is a theoretical preparation for this topic and an overall thinking on the research method as well.Under the control of theoretical ideas "originated by stories","knowing the ancient by understanding the age in which one lives"(????)and "meeting the intention of the author with the idea of the text"(????),this chapter emphasizes Original Stories as the text of context,and then investigates the view of Original Stories of Ci Poetry writers in Tang and Song Dynasties.Chapter 2 to 4 focuses on the discussion of Original Stories of Ci Tunes.Firstly,it collected and studied the Original Story,origin,music and style of the tunes which were commonly used by writers in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period,and demonstrates the close relation between Original Stories of Ci Tunes and the feature "Ci Poetries in the Tang Dynasty were usually originated by titles" via investigating specific cases.Secondly,by concentrating on the comparison of Yunyao Ji and Huajian Ji,it argued that Yunyao Ji should be"lyrics of Musical House" and Huajian Ji should be "lyrics of poets".From the "lyrics of Musical House" to "lyrics of poets",this progress reflected the main trend of development of Ci Poetry in the Tang and Song Dynasties.Moreover,starting with the LinjiangXian Tune,it investigates the Original Story's generating and the evolution of its themes,and then explained the Original Story of composing this tune and the origin of the emotion.From Chapter 5 to 7 is the study on Ci Poetry Writer and Original Story of Ci Works.To begin with,through the several forces of participating in the written of"accumulated creation" of Original Story in the process of canonization of Li Bai and his works in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period,it investigates the acceptance of writers in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period,and through the written of the Original Story of Qingping Diao,it researches Li Bai's grasping of music,Poetry Forms and Ci Poetry Forms and investigates Li Bai's turn from the composition of musical literature including shengshi?yuefu and so on to the composition of Ci Poetry genre.Secondly,through investigating the composition of two music related genre,yuefu and Ci Poetry,of Wen Tingyun,it revealed the connotation of "act as a virtuoso in music and write as a veteran in romantic Ci Poetry",and also discusses the relation of music and literature in the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties Period that these two perfectly complemented each other.Moreover,it focuses on the works of Wei Zhuang and Li Yu,begins with analyzing works of "The World with I",the hero who expressed his emotions in the Ci Poetry is the writers,to reveal the mutual originating relation of text of Ci Poetry and Original Story of Ci Poetry,and the situation of Original Story of Ci Poetry's intervention on the reading of Ci Peotry.
