In China, seal scripts, official scripts, cursive scripts, authentic scripts, official scripts, running scripts, regular scripts and so on are familiar to everyone, but what exactly do these names mean? Why do we call it so? Are they related to Chinese calligraphy tradition? How should "Calligraphy Tradition" be understood? In this regard,we only have a vague understanding. In addition, when reading book theory,we often encounter the phenomena of "one body with multiple names" and "one body with multiple names",and the stylistic appellation is different from the stylistic type and quantity.Qin-Han to Tang Dynasty is a continuous and complete period of the evolution and naming of calligraphy. Is this phenomenon related to the formation of Chinese calligraphy tradition?Based on the above problems, this paper takes the "key words of calligraphy" as the breakthrough point, makes statistics on the main stylistic names in the history of calligraphy: seal,li,cao, zheng, xing, kai, and so on,summarizes them into seven "key words series" and establishes a "database of key words of calligraphy",then carries out word frequency statistics and historical semantics analysis on each stylistic name, and combines ideology, politics, line and kai.Systematic, cultural, calligraphy and other disciplines of research methods and results of a comprehensive study. The research finds that behind the naming of each style, there are various aspects of social system, moral cultivation and human temperament, and the relationship between them is very complex. At the same time, with the rise of Confucianism's "Taoism",calligraphy has completed the self-construction of the name and reality of calligraphy and the concept of self-cultivation.For example,"Xiao Zhuan" inherits Zhou culture and obtains the "legitimacy" of the concept of writing in the background of founding the country by law in Qin Dynasty;as the official style of writing in Han Dynasty,Li Shu has the significance of canonizing human relations and standardizing moral cultivation, which is the moral value projection of Confucianism in Han Dynasty's cosmology;the rise of "cursive script" at the end of Han Dynasty means breaking through the "Li Shu" of representative system norms and pursuing "momentum".The other side of "Calligraphy Art" is formed in "Freedom".In the Wei and Jin Dynasties, under the dual relationship of "Xuanli and Shuangxiu",the "true book" and "Xingshu" were formed;in the Tang Dynasty, the "true book" which represented "Confucianism of mind and nature" and the "mad grass" which represented Buddhism and metaphysics were both intrinsically related to the change of social general concepts. In addition,"Zhengshu" became the collective name of three standard calligraphy styles, namely,Li Shu,Zhengshu and Kaishu, which depicted the whole process of "Li Chang" and "Kai Chang" from Qin and Han Dynasties to Tang Dynasty.Through the above research, this paper holds that only when the concept of style, name and reality, writing situation are independent and the overall concept of self-cultivation is clear, can the "calligraphy tradition" be formed. At the same time,"the tradition of calligraphy" will become the logical starting point of the development of calligraphy after Tang Dynasty. Therefore, this paper hopes that this study can provide a new way of thinking for understanding the macro-perspective of the interaction between Chinese calligraphy and social concepts.
