The portrait of the lady became an independent subject in the Tang and Song Dynasties and became a sub-subject under the traditional Chinese character painting department.However,there is still ambiguity in the academic circles about what is a portrait of a lady,and the function and meaning of the related works.Under the premise of comprehensively combing the female images in the Song Dynasty and before,this paper tries to define the ladies' paintings more clearly,examine the schema characteristics and social meanings of the ladies' paintings in the Song Dynasty,and apply some viewpoints of feminism.For the analysis of the images,examine the portraits of the ladies and ladies in the Song Dynasty.This article mainly discusses from the following aspects:1.The female images of the primitive society as the object of witchcraft and sexual worship have developed into posters of various religious women,female portraits,female stories,and female life in later generations.After a comprehensive review of these female images,this paper believes that the female images in such early subjects mostly appear as supporting roles.During the Tang and Song Dynasties,there were a large number of works dedicated to women.The producers of female images in the Song Dynasty are no longer confined to court painters,and many folk painters are also involved in the creation.The theme has also been expanded from the concentrated expression of court ladies to depicting women from all walks of life,and the types are more diverse.2.The current academic circles have much research on the ladies' paintings,but there is still a different understanding of what works can be classified as female paintings.It should be pointed out that just like the change of the concept of "shi" and "women" in history,the portrait of a lady is also a historical definition.Although it was not until the Song Dynasty that the name of the female painting was explicitly stated,similar images appeared in the Tang Dynasty.Through the combing of the female images in the Song Dynasty,this paper finds that the typical typical female paintings are mainly based on the poems of the literati in the Tang and Song Dynasties.Among them,the characters are mixed with the characteristics of the Tang and Song Dynasties,with obvious ideal features.3.From the relevant historical data analysis,the early ideal women are mostly women who adhere to the female moral standards.During the Tang and Song Dynasties,there were also many discourses about female virtues,which were shown in the image as various images of women and filial piety.But in real life,people's imagination of ideal women does not stop there.In the past,there was no shortage of poetry and poetry that praised women's looks and talents.This is represented by images of various beauty and ladies on the image.These two types of women generally show that men are contradictory to women in the intertwining of Confucian ethics and human desires.In terms of image performance,these two types of female images tend to converge.4.Compared with the Tang Dynasty,the Song people constructed a complicated and delicate female space in the portraits.In this space dedicated to women,plants and artifacts insulate the possibility of women communicating with the outside world,while also strengthening the female meaning of space with various metaphors.We have noticed that in the legends and scripts of the Tang and Song Dynasties,the gardens in the backyards of the homes are usually places where love does not conform to Confucian morality.To some extent,such images provide a convenient way to invade women's private spaces that are difficult for everyday men to obtain.5.Although there are no male figures in the ladies' paintings,the influence of men is everywhere.The ideal female image that was imagined and created by men was eventually watched by men.From the perspective of feminism,in the eyes of men,women are the object of intertwining feelings and desires,and also the objects that men intend to peep.The lady painting satisfies this desire.From the performance of the ladies' paintings,the popular grievance theme also shows that men intend to shape them into ones looking forward to being watched as "landscapes".This kind of expectation of watching is not only found in the ladies' paintings.Women in reality also regard themselves as “landscapes”,waiting for men to watch.
