The Suspension Of The Canal And The Economic And Social Changes In Western Shandong Province

This article does research on social development under the impact of water conservancy policies.The western area in Shandong province is selected as the research object,as this area experienced the historical event that the canal was suspended.This area with distinctive background provides a very broad and open research platform to investigate economic changes,cultural life ecological environment and other aspects in society.This research examines the canal in the context of social development,investigates the interactive relationship between the geographical environment and social development in many aspects,analyzes the social development in the western area in Shandong province from the perspective of the suspension of the canal,investigates the common trends in the canal area in Shandong province and the entire Chinese society and the unique change process influenced by the rise and fall of the canal by employing shifting perspectives,clarifying clues and mining historical materials.This research attempts to bridge the academic gap of canal suspension and regional social research from the perspective of social development,and explores the unique historical development path of the regional society formed thereby.This research is comprised of seven chapters,besides the introduction and conclusion.Each part is independent and logically integrated to other chapters,forming the main body of the whole thesis.The introduction is mainly a literature review,which summarizes and discusses the current research status of this topic,and at the same time introduces and explains the reasons for the topic selection,research scope and writing methods of this article.The first chapter puts the social and economic changes of the western area in Shandong province in the context of the modernization process of China,historically and dialectically analyzes the internal and external factors that led to the suspension of the canal which used to carry grain,analyzes the proposals of the suspension of the canal and the implementation process from multiple perspectives.The second chapter mainly discusses a series of adaptive adjustments in the the water conservancy management model from the central to the local level before and after the canal suspension in order to address this historical change that the canal was suspended.The third chapter uses local historical materials,and sorted out and analyzed the water conservancy management activities based on local realities conducted by the South Shandong Canal and Lake Dredging Preparatory Office and the Shandong Canal Engineering Bureau,and affirmed novel theories brought by modern modern science and technology for water conservancy.In the fourth chapter,analyzes the relationship between environmental changes and water conservancy disputes,investigates water conservancy disputes in the context of social development,demonstrates the game between neighboring stakeholder groups between villages,counties,and provinces,and deeply analyzes the impact of environmental changes,resource integration,people's psychology and many other factors on the water conservancy dispute resolution.The fifth chapter mainly shows in the context of natural disasters and gangs,the huge impact of the breakdown of social balance on the social psychology,and people's production and life in the western area in Shandong province.In the sixth chapter,analyzes the regional society after the suspension of canals,shipping development,railway opening,and highway construction against the background of the rise of new modes of transportation,attempts to outline the dynamic trajectory between the countryside and the city,between the center and the periphery,between the western area in Shandong province and other areas in many levels,and explores the implementation path of the western area in Shandong province to find new economic growth points.The seventh chapter,sorts out the traditional and modern response measures in the local social governance of in the western area in Shandong province from the perspective of gentry activities,people's life,and customs improvement.Among them are the coercive force of government,the conscious behavior of gentry people,and the modern transformation of people's beliefs,codes of conduct and lifestyles.
