The establishment of the pseudo-Manchurian state on March 1,1932 officially confirmed the fact that China's northeast region has become a Japanese colony.Local literature,as one of the most important types of literature in modern Chinese literature, plays an extremely important role in the study of pseudo-Manchu literature. The purpose of this article is to explore the complex relationship between the narrative of local literature in the local world and the modern state and history in the specific context of the pseudo-Manchu period, attempting to reveal the compromise and resistance of local literature between the imperialist narrative and the modernity process envisaged by the modern nation-state in a colonial context, and the interactive expressions of center and edge. This article uses the existing theory of colonial literature while returning to the historical context and specific texts. It demonstrates that the pseudo-Manchu local literature not only exposes the actual suffering of the colonial people, but also shows the "inherent coloniality" contained in the pseudo-Manchu local literature, and tries to show the efforts and attempts of pseudo-Manchu native writers to find alternative texts that can go beyond the core of Western modernity discourse. The main body of the thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly outlines the process of the generation, development and practice of pseudo-Manchu local literature. The literary and artistic policies of the "May Fourth" new literature,left-wing literature, and "independent the northeast literature" proposed by the Japanese and pseudo-authorities all have a bearing on the generation and development of pseudo-Manchu local literature. In addition,we reconsidered the "local literature" dispute that took place in the pseudo-Manchu literary world from the discussion in the Chinese literary circle in the 1930 s on the issue of "popularization of literature and art",and tried to show different imaginations on the issues of nationality, class nature and subjectivity of Manchu literature entailed in the pseudo-Manchu writers' debate about local literature. The second chapter describes that writers of various nations, classes and cultural backgrounds used distinct Northeast region rural landscape which was found and created from different cognitive perspectives and narrative strategies as a means tointerpret the complex values contained in Northeast region's rural landscape. The third chapter shows the inner connection between the squire class and the decline of the local economy through various descriptions of the image of the squire in the pseudo-Manchu local literature. The fourth chapter attempts to explain the modernity of the pseudo-Manchu local literature, that is,the pseudo-Manchu native writers re-interpreted the traditional cultural connotations such as "loyalty" and "justice" and used closed space narratives represented by "primitive forests" to complete restoration of folk ethics so as to realize local autonomy, and shows the characteristics of modern disenchantment.
