Since Marx proposed fetishism theory,fetishism theory has become the entry point of Western Marxist theory.While inheriting Marx's fetishism theory,Western Marxism adopts a different analytical approach from that of Marx,that is,it views fetishism from the perspective of psychoanalysis.But scholars are more exploring the classic Western Marxist fetishism theory or combing out a character's views on a psychoanalysis study of fetishism.It can be said that the academic circle lacks the psychoanalytic method to analyze fetishism from the overall perspective.Based on this,this paper takes psychoanalysis as the basis to study the inner operating mechanism of fetishism,reveals the secret of its own existence,and discusses the new characteristics of fetishism.In the development of fetishism theory,fetishism has shifted from social analysis to psychoanalytic research.On the one hand,Marx's fetishism theory is to investigate the social operating mechanism under the capitalist production mode,but Marx lacks the interpretation of the secrets of fetishism itself.On the other hand,Marx pointed out that abstraction becomes domination,and its abstraction is expressed in the form of exchange that governs the operation of the economy,but today's abstraction directly affects human senses.Therefore,Western Marxism began to use psychoanalysis,and psychoanalysis has become a bridge for Western Marxism to study the relationship between social economic structure and subject structure.Psychoanalysis is not only an individual's psychology,but also a society-oriented theory.Taking psychoanalysis as the research method of fetishism theory is to critically absorb the theoretical resources of psychoanalysis.Thus,the essence of the theory of "Returning to Freud" is the possible path of a psychoanalysis study of fetishism.In the process of "returning to Freud",a psychoanalysis study of fetishism was influenced by the consumer society and Lacan's psychoanalysis,forming an interpretative framework with fetishism as the research horizon and unconsciousness as the theoretical logic.Based on this theoretical approach,the basic form of modern fetishism is the obsession of illusion.In the context of psychoanalysis,firstly,the signifier logic differentiates symbols and forms symbolic objects;secondly,the mechanism of gaze creates the field of illusion,which makes people unable to extricate themselves in the world of illusion of fetishism.The symbolization of commodities and the landscape of commodities create a world of illusions.The world of illusions not only supports social reality,but also masks the inconsistencies of social reality.Desire is what drives people into the world of fetishism.In order to stimulate the fetishistic desire,the capitalist society created historical needs that transcended natural needs and met bourgeois interests.However,"Desire is the desire of the other",and people will never be able to meet their needs under the impetus of desire.It can be seen that the hidden clue of a psychoanalysis study of fetishism is the discipline process of ideology.Today's fetishism as a representation of social reality people identify with the capitalist social system,which is the result of unconscious operation.In Lacan's psychoanalysis,the unconscious is the field of symbolic structure.Based on the symbolic structure,a psychoanalysis study of fetishism forms two paths: In the way of "digestion" towards the symbolic exchange and in the way of "face directly" through the illusion,the two paths reflect the mandatory symbolic structure and the emptiness behind.Therefore,breaking through the symbolic structure has become the main way to get rid of the inherent constraints of fetishism.A psychoanalysis study of fetishism complements and develops Marx's fetishistic theory.It explores the secrets of fetishism and focus on intrinsic concerns;Based on the living state of consumer society,it develops the study of groups.It sees fetishism as a social reality and tries to find a way out of the inner shackles of fetishism.In short,a psychoanalysis study of fetishism opens a new perspective for fetishism criticism.
