This article is a field ethnography study about Gaoliangchong Muslim how to choose between religion and village,it aims to present the ethnic identity and practice of hui-people is not simply about Islam as the only factor,which is essentially the role in the collective memory,resources possession,acquaintance society,civil mobilization,state power,and the influence of minzu(ethnic groups of China),as it is the diversity of hui-people and identity construction complexity is far more than the average person's imagination.In the face of living village is a cultural diversity and ethnic mix background,Gaoliangchong Muslim constructed a yi-hui identity and the same area symbiotic mode with yi-people lived a closed village life in mixed age.As the 1990 s the rise of Yunnan's Islamic complex mode operation,Gaoliangchong Muslim decided return(convert to Islam)under the resultant mobilization force of personal,social and national,from then on,they were able to cross the village cut off and connect the outland jamaat to constitute a circle link network of Diannan Maulid al –Nabi,so Gaoliangchong Muslim is not only a village community with yi-people,but also it is a jamaat community with outland hui-people,this means that Muslim useding jamaat to construct a border areas as the difference with yi-people in the same village.However,jamaat are not completely replace the village's traditional structure,the main reason is that the reality of a long time between yi and hui people in the same village,so their relationship are unabling to untangle the acquaintance society,so how to choice between religion and village has become a key issue after Gaoliangchong Muslim returned.In fact,Gaoliangchong Muslim using the changing flow identity characteristics to realize balance between religion and villages,on the one hand the hui-people identity get respect from yi-people in the village,so that they can continue to gain the practice Islam resources from outland jamaat.On the other hand they still follow the inherent village of ethnic identity,and construct communication privity when face to religious taboo with yi-people,but never stop them to continue get survive resources from the village.This article showed that Gaoliangchong Muslim uses the flow changing identity to seek reconciliation between religion and village,this is a kind of senior state through constructing the middle area to form a pattern of symbiosis,so we can say the concept of cultural symbiosis is a real social ideal,it give us an important revelation that proved the ethnic identity can provide various sources of survive resources to subordinated groups,of course,it also requires us to find the right position in identity.From this point on,religion and villages are living resources of Gaoliangchong Muslims can make use of,so ethnic identity in the middle is a both ways advantage of profit maximiztion to let them get surcival resources.Need to reflect on,the present Islamic practice resources of yunnan hui-people are through embracing the world from outside under the hui and globalization,so we give a positive evaluation as well as to keep deeply self-reflection spirit.Of course,we also not comment too much,because it is just a stage of modernity identity evolution of hui-people,and it is not the result of hui-people,besides state power can screen those outside resources at important moments.
