Adopting an anthropologic view,this thesis attempts to base the daily life of Bai women in Nuo village of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture and present the life course that pursuing "virtue" of Nuo Village women.The process of gender construction of Nuo Village women is investigated on the basis of it.This process also reflects the tension between social norms and female's subjectivity in Chinese rural society.As we all know,the differences between gender roles are often presented through many aspects such as people's behavior,thoughts,and emotions.Through exploring the following aspects,i.e.,the physical habitus of Nuo village women,the establishment and construction of gender,the time dimension and spatial dimension,the daily behavior of women in Nuo Village and the observance and breaking of traditional habits,this paper draws out women's daily life in Nuo Village,thus revealing the changes in the concept and behavior of women in Nuo Village in recent years.On the one hand,it explores how habitus can constrain women's behavior through establishment and construction process of gender.On the other hand,it discusses how habitus can highlight women's subjectivity.The first chapter focuses on the relationship between the body and the behavior of women in Nuo village in daily life and "Virtue".It tries to answer how the Nuo village people understands the "Virtue" of women's body and behavior in their world of concept.Through describing the life arrangements of Nuo village women in one day,the arrangements of labor in a year,and the annual festival activities and so on,the second chapter try to reveal the symbol of the "Virtue" of Nuo Village women--which is "centered on diligence"--by depicting the rhythm of daily life.The third chapter explores the relationship between bodily habitus and gender construction behind the production of space and its influence on the way of behaving and the direction of moral value reflected by the Nuo village women whose belief is "Virtue".The fourth chapter discusses the process of how some Nuo women pursuing "Virtue"in sexual relations,marriage and family,and career choice.In this process,women follow the traditional habits and get the praise of "Virtue".At the same time,they also violate the habitus in a way,thus exerting subjective initiative.The fifth chapter introduces Bourdieu's concept of "habitus",with the individual generation and system generation of dual historical mental structure as the theoretical framework.The process of producing traditional habitus expressed as "Virtue" is discussed.On the one hand,it expounds the social structure of the "system formation" of the traditional habits of the Nuo Village,which is the shaping of the female body by the"the salt well culture" with regional characteristics formed under the influence of multiple cultures;on the other hand,from the process of the habitus of individual generation,that is,the process of individual socialization,this chapter expounds the socialization process in which the Nuo village women are composed of and functioned together by infant raising,family education,school education and social education.Last part is the conclusion.It is about the Bourdieu's discussion of the "habitus are not fatal".Nuo Village has experienced the rapid development of tourism in recent years and has become more and more modernized at the material field.However,we can also find that people's ideas,behavioral logics and intergenerational continuation behavior still have not left the tradition.The life track of Nuo Village women pursuing "Virtue" has not stopped.This is an invisible force.But at the same time,it should be noted that,as Bourdieu said,"habutis is not the fate." Under the current social structure,women in Nuo Village can also partially or completely change their own development through the realization of their subjectivity,and can correct or reshape the way gender is constructed to achieve an all-round development.Through the overall discussion of the thesis,it is found that:on the one hand,virtue is the relationship between ethics and morality.It does not only stay in writing,verbal or external,but also leaves a deep imprint on the whole process of women' gender construction.It is so internalized in people's thoughts and emotions that it cannot be eliminated for a long time.On the other hand,people's subjectivity can also change these accustomed cultures on a certain level.But to achieve this requires a constant effort.
