As an important part of citizen education,the citizen’s political participation education enables the citizen to acquire the basic knowledge and skills,emotions,will and behavioral standards of the political participation through the education and guidance in the citizen’s political participation by the government,schools,social organizations and other educational bodies so that the citizen can participate in political activities in a rational,orderly and democratic way.Therefore,it is not only the core content of the modern democratic politics,but also the inevitable requirement of expanding the orderly political participation of the citizen,which embodies the basic value of promoting the development of the political civilization in modern society.Visibly,the citizen’s political participation education is not only the important way and means to realize the political rights of modern social citizens,but also the basic premise and foundation to promote the citizen’s political participation.The degree of the citizen’s political participation education directly decides the degree of the citizen’s political participation,which marks the actual developmental level of the country’s democratic politics.It is in this sense that the citizen’s political participation education is embodied in the expansion of the orderly political participation of the citizen,which is an important way to enhance the consciousness and skills of citizens in political participation.In the context of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,how to strengthen the citizen’s political participation,highlight the subject status of the citizen’s political participation,expand the citizen’s orderly political participation,enhance our citizens’ discourse power in the construction of socialist political civilization,and avoid “disturbing visit”,“mass visit” and other non-institutionalized participating phenomenon in promoting the citizen’s political participation that has become one of the important contents of the socialist modernization construction with Chinese characteristics in the new era.Since the Eighteenth Congress of C.P.C,Comrade Xi Jin ping has repeatedly stressed that the key of the construction of socialist political civilization lies in correctly educating and guiding our citizens to orderly participate in politics,continuously improving the system of the people as masters of the country,and constantly developing the socialist democratic politics.In other words,in the contemporary China,the socialist democratic politics will not make progress without the push of the citizen’s political participation and our citizens’ political participation cannot be standardized and institutionalized without the effective guidance in the citizen’s political participation education.In view of this,this paper,guided by the theory of scientific socialism and based on Marxist political theory,which how to educate and guide the citizen’s orderly political participation as a research starting point,defines theoretical connotation,function and characteristics related to the citizen’s political participation education,examines the historical change,basic experience and the current situation of the citizen’s political participation education in contemporary China,and discusses the basic principles and path selections of strengthening the education of the citizen’s political participation under the perspective of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.This thesis mainly consists of three parts including the introduction,body and epilogue.The introduction part mainly elaborates the origin and the significance of the selected topic,domestic and foreign research situation at present,shortcomings and innovation point,research thought,method,as well as the key and difficult points.The body of the paper is divided into five chapters.This first chapter defines the scientific connotation and composition of the related concepts of the citizen’s political participation education such as “citizens”,“political participation” and “the citizen’s education”,so as to lead to the theoretical connotation of the citizen’s political participation education.On this basis,the chapter analyzes the basic characteristics and function of the citizen’s political participation education,which provides the theoretical basis and logical starting point of thinking for the following research.The second chapter mainly discusses the theoretical basis of the citizen’s political participation education in our country.From the theoretical level,this chapter discusses the theoretical origin of the education of the citizen’s political participation in our country,the contribution of Communist Party of China to the theory of the citizen’s political participation education and the historical experience of foreign education of the citizen’s political participation.This chapter in an innovative way puts forward and illustrates the view of the citizen’s political participation education theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics ” which lays the theoretical foundation for the following research.The third chapter mainly discusses the historical vicissitude of our citizens’ political participation education.Adhering to the principle of unifying the history and reality,this chapter comprehensively and systematically examines the practice of citizens’ political participation education in various historical periods in China which can be divided into three periods,that is,the last years of Qing Empire to the period before the founding of new China as the start of the citizen’s political participation education,the founding of new China to the period before the reform and opening up as the preliminary developmental period of the citizen’s political participation education,since the reform and opening up till now as the deepening promoting period of the citizen’s political participation education.On this basis,this chapter summarizes the historical enlightenment of our country citizens’ politics participation education,which provides the practice basis and experiential reference for the further study of this paper.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the current situation and causes of the citizen’s political participation education in our country.This chapter first of all scientifically analyzes the necessity to strengthen the education of the citizen’s political participation in the contemporary China from the perspectives of the construction of the socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics,the realization of the citizen’s political socialization,and the promoting of the citizen’s orderly political participation.Secondly,it objectively analyzes the remarkable achievements of Chinese citizens’ political participation education from the aspects of the overall environment,institutional guarantee and participation consciousness.Thirdly,on the basis of empirical research,it points out the plight of the citizen’s political participation education in contemporary China,such as the citizen’s political cognition,the citizen’s political participation consciousness,the moral of the citizen’s political participation,the ability of the citizen’s political participation,etc.Finally,the chapter,through the systematic thought,deeply analyzes the factors that restrict the effectiveness of the citizen’s political participation education from the aspects of the economy,politics,culture,environment and the quality of citizens.The fifth chapter mainly discusses the path selection of strengthening the current citizen’s political participation education.As the essence of the thesis,this chapter,on the basis of the basic principles of adhering to the leadership of the Communist Party of China,with the people as center,combining dominant education and progressive education,visible education and recessive education,further puts forward that it needs to strengthen the citizen’s political participation education in contemporary China from the macroscopic dimension including the economy,politics,culture,society,environment,and mechanism,and also on needs to carry on the guidance of the education of the citizen’s political participation in contemporary China from the microscopic dimension of promoting their own quality in participating in the political life so as to promote the citizen’s orderly political participation of our country.The epilogue part,which points out the long-term,complexity and reality of strengthening our country citizens’ political participation education discusses and summarizes that education of the citizen’s political participation is important work of our country’s construction of socialist political civilization,which must be lifted to the long-term strategic position for research as it decides the success or failure of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era rather than a simple task which can be completed overnight.
