| People's quality of life is a core concept of the happiness of people and social governance,which is also a focus of all walks of life,including all levels of government and academia.In the field of quality of life,the relationship and interaction mechanism between subjective and objective quality of life are controversial issues suffering from attention.On theoretical aspect,dominant research paradigm in quality of life field is the"subjective-objective" dual quality of life research paradigm currently.This research paradigm is of great significance for in-depth studies on subjective quality of life and objective quality of life research respectively.However,it cannot offer a powerful explanation for the relationship and interaction mechanism between subjective and objective quality of life.Based on capability approach theory perspective,this study brings "functioning" concept into the analysis framework of quality of life,defines objective quality of life by living conditions,and builds "living condition-functioning-subjective quality of life" original analysis framework.The mediating effect of functioning between living conditions and subjective quality of life was tested,and its influence to the relationship between subjective and objective quality of life was investigated.By these way,the cohesion between subjective and objective quality of life is realized,and the quality of life theoretical system has also enriched.The mediating effect analysis in the research provides beneficial ideas and inspiration for the research of interrelationship and interaction mechanism between subjective and objective quality of life,overcoming some inherent flaws in the traditional"subjective-objective" dualistic theoretical framework,and realizing the combination of objective and subjective quality of life in theoretical and index level.In practice aspect,quality of life theory and index play a dual role since its birth.It is not only one of the crucial evaluation methods for social development and people's life,but also an essential assessment tools of real effects of social policy and social intervention.In the practice process of social governance,both governments and various social organizations are not able to affect or control people's subjective feeling of life directly,but need to take a series of means and measures to improve people's living conditions,to affect people's living situations and daily activities,which can promote the growth of farmers' happiness and satisfaction of life indirectly.The research regards functioning variables as mediating variables,which reflect the status of life and daily activities of people,and takes it into the measure of the correlation between subjective and objective quality of life,which can reflect to what extent the improvement of living conditions is able to influence people's life status and daily activities,and the effect of functioning's change to the promoting of people's satisfaction and well-being.It has a certain practical significance to the assessment for the residents' living status,the actual effect of livelihood policy and the effect evaluation of social governance.This research takes farming peasants as the research object.Under current rural economic and social background,peasants group presents greater differentiation in terms of economic income and life condition aspects.Many young and middle-aged peasants take jobs in cities and seek employment out of native towns as migrant workers.By this way they earned far higher revenue than that of farming peasants can get,which increase their income and consumption level,also improve the living conditions of their relatives.In contrast,farming peasants have to face and suffer some economic issue such as farming,low food prices and so on.At the same time they have to face the decline of country.From this perspective,there is a widening gap in economic and social life dimensions between the two groups of rural residents,and the reality of rural aging labor forces has exacerbated the trend.Based on the attention to the differentiation of rural residents in income and living conditions aspects,the dissertation takes farming peasants as study object.The research process can be roughly divided into two parts:theoretical analysis and empirical analysis.In terms of theory,from one aspect,we make a series of critical analyses to the traditional "subjective-objective" dualistic quality of life theoretical paradigm and existing subjective and objective quality of life research.From another aspect,we summarized capability approach which put forward by AmartyaˇSen,and introduced the application of capability approach in quality of life research.By this way we provided theoretical support for capability approach's using in the study of subjective and objective quality of life relationship and interaction.In terms of empirical research,farming peasants group was selected as the research sample from the "Chinese Social Survey 2013(CSS2013)" data.SPSS 20.0 statistical software was used to operate descriptive analyses for farming peasants'quality of life comprehensive conditions,and to measure the correlation between living condition,functioning and subjective quality of life.Mediating effect model is established on the basis of descriptive analyses and correlation analyses.Using"Process for SPSS" plugin to measure the significance level and effect size of mediating effect of functioning between living conditions and subjective quality of life.The academic practice of combining subjective and objective quality of life and its difficulties of research were discussed.Paper points out that the core of solving the problem is clearing the interaction mechanism between subjective and objective quality of life.Based on the results of mediating effect analysis,paper discusses the direct and indirect path from objective quality of life to subjective quality of life,in order to clarify the interaction mechanism of subjective and objective quality of life,and response to the theme of this study.Some new conclusions have been reached through the research:(1)Some functioning,such as leisure activities and security status,have a widely and crucial mediating effect between farming peasants' subjective and objective quality of life;(2)Some living conditions such as social insurance and living consumption are able to stimulate the functioning of peasants better than others;(3)Peasants have certain adaptability to environment pollution,thus environmental problems do not have a significant negative impact on peasants' happiness;(4)Nowadays,farming peasants'demands are increasingly diverse,the effects on peasants' subjective quality of life are more derived from the intangible social arrangements and functioning,rather than living conditions.Finally,paper presents some reflections of the contrast of peasants' subjective and objective quality of life variation trend,and discusses some crucial significance of capability approach perspective to quality of life research.The further extensibility research is also prospected. |
