The paper explores the ways to achieve superior job performance and cooperation among employees.The conceptual review suggests that leadership styles influence role conflict and role ambiguity,which in turn impact job performance and cooperation.The research paper builds on the theory of leadership and contributes to the leadership-performance body of work.The importance of role stressors which include role ambiguity and role Conflict is considered to be critical for understanding these role stressors enables policymakers and leaders to take necessary measures which can be used to increase the job performance and cooperation among employees.Based on the review of the literature,the study provides a conceptual framework which consists of transformational,transactional and laissez-faire leadership.The influence of various types of leadership styles is analyzed for role conflict and role ambiguity.Resolving role ambiguity and role conflict is hypothesized to increase the job performance.Increasing job performance is posited to have a positive influence on increasing job cooperation.After the research model had been developed a corresponding questionnaire survey was developed and conducted on the sample of Saudi Arabia company employees.The data was analyzed using SPSS.The quantitative analysis consisted of descriptive statistics calculation,assumption testing,correlation analysis and ANOVA analysis.The findings of the research suggest that role conflict and role ambiguity have a negative influence on job performance.The results of the study also indicate that transactional and transformational leadership are impactful on role ambiguity and conflict.Each leadership style is unique regarding their cooperation and communication,motivation,objective setting and decision making.It is also important to note that despite the several differences in the leadership style,it is crucial for the leaders to be able to cope with the role conflict and role ambiguity to improve team effectiveness.Another finding of the paper shows that increasing job performance positively impacts on job cooperation.The current research proposes a framework which can be used to analyze the influence of different types of leaders in response to role stressors,such as role conflict and role ambiguity which are directly related to job performance and cooperation.The study provides various practical implications that can be useful and valuable for the managers,leaders,middle and top-level managers who come across with the challenges of working in teams.The study offers innovative insights on how different types of leader's cope with role ambiguity and role conflict in increasing job performance.It is critical for the leaders to bear in mind of potential side effects of role ambiguity and role conflict which is detrimental to the process of employees productivity and effectiveness.A clear understanding of employee needs and clear picture of potential negative effects of role ambiguity and role conflict can encourage leaders to take effective measures in order to create a better organizational environment where employees can work upon their best potential.Furthermore,future research should consider the influence of another role stressor known as work overload and its consequent impact on employees' performance and job satisfaction.
