A Narrative Research Of A Amateur Sports School In A City Of Northeast(1956-2017)

This study was based on the qualitative sociological research path,which was a comprehensive historical narrative of a grass-roots amateur sports school and its coaches.Narrative materials were obtained of historical documents and personal information,dialogue interviews and oral history,and non participatory public observations.The study found that the amateur sports school's glory and embarrassment reflectd the social and historical changes of China and this municipal amateur sports school was the product of the political response between the “plan” and the “market”.The A amateur sports school in Northeast of China is the only municipal amateur sports school in the A area.Its predecessor TB amateur sports school established in 1960 s under the unified programme.During the social history of the “storm”from 1966 to 1970,the TB amateur sports school was closed.In 1971,under the support of the military,the school restored and gradually embarked to the climax in the historical development.However,the inherent social ecological structure of the amateur sports school and its coaches were gradually broken after 1978.Though under the persistence of a sports man and in the social atmosphere created by the “Olympic strategy”,the development of TB amateur sports school in 80 s was still stable and orderly.By 1990 s,the economic level of A city went to a low level,and the sports field was lost.A amateur sports school as a lack of location and foundation organization,the “unit” that needed to rely on the whole planned system was gradually desolate.The A area lacks sports traditions and has failed to completely eliminate the inertia of the planned economy.The backward and out of order lead A amateur sports school to hesitate to move forward between the socialization and marketization reform in sports.This is a “unit”,but also the workplace of amateur training coaches.A amateur sports school's outstanding looseness shows that this occupational group has been lacking in integration,but coaches still can't avoid this occupation identity.Whether the occupation for coaches was glory or shame,“if you can give the child a way out” was the key to evaluate the success or failure of amateur sports schools and coaches.It also determines the status and resources of amateur sports schools and coaches in the social interaction.The “occupational field” of A amateur sports school is a sudden field.It must acquire social capital from social ecosystem to maintain the existence state.It has several characteristics: the most important factor is the political ecosystem;the way to get the capital is the power of the occupational field;the educational ecosystem and the sports ecosystem are isolated from the system and crossed in practice.In this study,A amateur sports schools and their coaches can't create social capital and hardly occupy scarce resources.The social position of this occupational field is very marginalized,which directly affects the creation and acquisition of all kinds of social capital.This free,loose and diverse “muddle along” field is in the inertia of the political ecosystem,it faces a final decline ending,while the hard workers are also faced with the choice to continue to survive in the cramped time and space.
