The research is aimed at exploring the design and the development of school-based curriculum through employing the theory and model of instructional design.The study is focused on the following issues:1.The feasibility of employing the theory and the model of instructional design to develop the curriculum and the rationality of using 4C/ID and PBL to design and develop the school-based curriculum are inquired.2.The instructional design model based on 4C/ID and PBL is constructed.The practice research is conducted to explore how to design and develop the curriculum with the help of learning resources.In addition,the feasibility of applying 4C/ID and PBL to design and develop the school-based curriculum is studied.The background and research questions are introduced and the key concept and the terms are defined in the first part.Moreover,the introduction part reviews the relevant literature and puts forward the theoretical and practical significance as well as the research method and predicted result.The theory part illustrates the basic theory and the features of 4C/ID and PBL.The two cutting-edge instructional design models are closely analyzed and their complementarity is discussed.Based on the comparative analysis of the two models and the key elements of the school-based curriculum development,the curriculum development framework is designed.The analysis of the 4C/ID-PBL curriculum development framework analyzes the core procedures of 4C/ID-PBL curriculum development which are curriculum objectives,curriculum tasks,curriculum problems and curriculum evaluation.The curriculum design comes after the analysis of the theoretical framework.It combines the curriculum development framework with the previous research and the specific course goal of "historical thinking concepts".The specific implementing scheme is designed through the analysis of the curriculum target and the construction of the instructional strategies.The development of curriculum resources means creating the curriculum contents and resources that can be used to implement on the basis of the blueprint of the curriculum design.In the course of developing curriculum resources,we choose or develop specific media to support the content of learning,complete the teaching guide and the student learning guide,and develop the tools as well as the specific ways of evaluation.In this chapter,all preparatory work before the implementation of the course will be completed,and a detailed plan for the implementation of the course will be formed to complete the resource package of the whole course implementation.The curriculum implementation process will explain and analyze the specific implementation of the school-based curriculum developed on the theoretical and practical basis of the 4C/ID-PBL curriculum design and development model.The integration of the specific subject knowledge and the curriculum development model will be analyzed,and the rationality and effectiveness of the curriculum model in the implementation process will be further analyzed in accordance with the response of the teachers and learners in the specific implementation process.Based on the implementation process in action research,the way to set up a learning group in the course of the course implementation,the role of the teacher in the course implementation,and the conditions needed in the course of the course implementation will be analyzed.The curriculum is evaluated by the methods of assessment scale,questionnaire,student interview,document review,summative assessment,self-reflection,peer review and so on.The final part of the paper is the conclusion and the discussion.Through the study,it is believed that the school-based curriculum development of the whole task and question-based learning is a model which is learner-centered,integrated with cooperative learning and constructivism.It can be used as an important reference for the design and development of school-based curriculum.It has both theoretical and practical significance.This chapter also puts forward some suggestions on curriculum development and curriculum learning,and proposes some prospects and thoughts on how to further study and apply the theory of instructional design to the development of curriculum.In a word,through the theoretical and practical research,we think that the curriculum development based on the theory of instructional design is an important reference for the development of school-based curriculum,which is worth further promoting in both its breadth and depth,and its theoretical and practical aspects.
