Thinking,as one of the characteristics of human beings,is a high-level cognitive activity possessed by humans.Among them,critical thinking,as a high-level form of human thinking,is a necessary quality for people.Especially in today’s information explosion,critical thinking has become a core ability that contemporary students should possess,and it is also a prerequisite for the cultivation of innovative talents in the information society.The development of information technology has also changed people’s learning methods,and blended learning has become a relatively mature learning method.Studies have shown that critical thinking can be cultivated in the teaching of certain subjects.It is in this context that the research question is raised: how to use the appropriate technology for the design of blended learning to improve students’ critical thinking?Based on this,this study takes the "Silk Road" topic of junior high school history as the load,and adopts the questionnaire survey,interview method and quasi-experimental research method under the guidance of CTCL research paradigm.Firstly,the critical thinking and academic performance of the two classes were measured to determine whether they could be used as experimental subjects.Then to survey of the research object of study,learning situation,on the basis of the questionnaire data analysis,interviews with teachers and students to further analyze the students’ learning needs,on the basis of students’ learning needs,after the history knowledge and critical thinking to develop the appropriate content of blended learning in the teaching design,and in consideration of the students’ critical thinking level,educational level and learning needs,the students of experimental class can be divided into 6 groups according to the learning task order grouping blended learning,that in comparative classes for regular group learning environment.After 5 weeks of thematic teaching experiment,the critical thinking test and academic level test after teaching were carried out,and the experimental data were analyzed to draw a conclusion.Experiments show that technology-supported blended learning can effectively improve students’ academic performance and critical thinking.The main conclusions of the research are as follows:(1)The rational use of blended learning in the teaching of the historical topic "Silk Road" can improve students’ critical thinking ability.(2)The academic level of students who study the historical topic "Silk Road" in a blended learning environment has been improved and is positively correlated with critical thinking.(3)Problem-based learning in a blended learning environment is one of the feasible ways to cultivate students’ critical thinking in the historical topic "Silk Road".
