Ideology is the core of social thought,and the core of ideology is value.As values will not end and be replaced by a single ideology,the thought of "the end of ideology" is a kind of wrong social thought in the west.Its essence is to promote the superiority,eternity and unitary of western bourgeois' liberal democracy,to deny the scientificity of Marx's Ideology,and to criticize the legitimacy of socialist regimes.Obviously,this trend of thought runs counter to the mainstream ideology of our country.However,since the reform and opening up,the spread and overflow of western “end of ideology” thought in China is bound to have a broad and profound impact on people,especially contemporary college students.Therefore,the analysis of the concrete manifestation and the reasons of the influences of the western “end of ideology”thought on contemporary college students and the discussion on how to guide them to correctly understand and criticize the western “end of ideology”thought are theoretically and practically important to recognize the reactionary essence of the western “end of ideology”thought,to enrich and perfect the contents and methods of ideological and political education in colleges and universities and to enhance its effectiveness.The western “end of ideology” thought was established by western scholars according to the specific historical context and the needs of western bourgeoisie,with the advantages of western developed countries in economy,science and technology,military and culture,and through the beautification of the western capitalist system and the uglification of socialist system.This thought considers that the western liberal democracy can not only solve the social problems and promote the development of society,but also can meet the needs of people radically.It declares that the ideology is over,and it's a wrong social thought which takes the West as the center,regards the free and democratic value of the West as the universal value,and sets the end of Marx and the socialist ideology as the main purpose.Although the western “end of ideology” thought includes the ideology contents of postmodernism,historical nihilism,new liberalism,pragmatism,individualism,the anti Marx doctrine and other academic schools,it has the characteristics of distinct class nature and directivity,falsity and fraudulence,dynamicity and openness,and complexity and comprehensiveness because they share the common value position,common cultural identity and value orientation.Like any other social ideological trend,the western “end of ideology” thought can not be separated from the political,economic and cultural background of a certain society.Its formation is bound to go through a process of theoretical exploration,thought formation and ideological development.From the main point of view of western “end of ideology”thought,it mainly includes the universal value,social convergence theory,“end of history”theory and the theory of clash of civilizations,which express the concepts and interest demands of the western bourgeoisie,is based on the value position of the western bourgeoisie,takes the West as the center and aims to belittle,vilify and distort the socialist ideology and even to subvert the socialist state.Therefore,the so-called end of ideology refers to the end of other non western capitalism,especially the socialist ideology.This is essentially the political thought of the west,or Western ideological trend of thought.It is the the West's tool for peaceful evolution of socialist countries and the continuation of the cold war thinking.The influences of the western “end of ideology” thought on contemporary college students mainly refer to the influences of the idealism of the western “end of ideology” thought,abstract theory of human nature,practicality of value pursuit,“the end of communism”,“modernization is the westernization”,individual supremacy,de ideology,Marx doctrine of obsolescence,Western liberal democracy eternity and other ideas on contemporary college students' outlook of the world,outlook on life,outlook on value and political view.According to this,the statistical analysis based on 847 valid questionnaires and 16 interviews shows that the majority of college students are able to correctly view the idea and value proposition of the western “end of ideology”thought,and correctly understand the law of human society and its historical development.They have a positive pursuit of the value of life and correct values and are able to firmly believe in socialism,communism and Marxism.But there are also some college students who hold a more positive attitude to the ideas emphasized by the western “end of ideology” thought.These students are easy to be dragged by the idealism and the abstract theory of human nature,easy to shake the ideal of communism and have the utilitarian pursuit of the value of life,easy to ignore collectivism values and blindly agree with Western values,easy to be misled by de ideology,Marx doctrine of obsolescence,Western liberal democracy eternity and other ideas.Theoretical analysis,data analysis and interview samples show that the western “end of ideology” thought has an impact on contemporary college students mainly because the Western hostile forces and anti China forces use this thought to do ideological infiltration and “peaceful evolution”.The interaction between different social systems and similarities of development mode provide a realistic basis for the convergence theory of this thought;Unsound market economy provides a hotbed for the development of this thought;Non regulated network media provides a platform for the spread of this thought;Lack of ideological education in colleges and universities and imperfection of ideological management provide loopholes for this thought.Besides,immature psychological states of some college students are suggestible,undefined “three outlooks” are easy to be misled,imperfect knowledge system is easy to be deceived and blind worship of western culture is easy to be assimilated.Under the combined action of internal and external factors,the influences of the western “end of ideology” thought on contemporary college students have changed from possibility to reality.To actively guide contemporary college students to correctly understand and criticize the western “end of ideology” thought,we need to follow the principles and ways of the criticism and leading of socialist core values.Only in this way can we thoroughly criticize and actively lead the western “end of ideology” thought.We need to make full use of the international platform to enhance the initiative of international discourse so as to effectively riposte the western “end of ideology” thought's negation and query of the socialist China.We should guide contemporary college students to form the correct ideology and values in the fine social environment and exert the positive factor of the environment to resist the development and spread of the western “end of ideology” thought through optimizing the political environment,economic environment,cultural environment and the mass media environment.We should take the campus culture construction as the carrier,take the ideological and political education theory course as the main channel and strengthen the construction of the university network ideology to innovate the ideological education in colleges and universities.By doing this,we can consolidate the dominant position of socialist mainstream ideology in colleges and universities and make the contemporary college students strengthen the socialist belief so that they can resist the temptation of the western “end of ideology” thought.We should improve the qualities of contemporary college students by implementing the “young Marx doctrine training project”,strengthening the education of ideals and beliefs and enhancing the ability to discriminate so as to strengthen their faiths in communism and Marxism and promote them to understand the reactionary essence of the western “end of ideology” thought.
