Ideology is an extremely important task of the Party, and ideology education in colleges and universities is the strategic, consolidated and spiritual engineering.The incoming and quick development of Micro-era has proposed great challenges to ideology tasks in colleges and universities, and has brought rare opportunities as well. In the light of its general trend, innovating ideology education of college students, enhancing their confidence and faith towards socialism with Chinese characteristics and communism, is of great significance to ensuring qualified successors, realizing the Chinese Dream, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The first part is introduction. This part mianly introduces the reasons,significance, content and methods of selecting topics, and also collation and review of relevant research at home and abroad.The second part focuses on relevant conceptions and basic theories. Analysis are done over core conceptions of Micro-era, Ideology, Mainstream Ideology and Mainstream Ideology Education of College Students etc. The research also analyzes the challenges and opportunities Micro-era has proposed to the mainstream ideology education of college students, which has become a logical starting point of the study.The third part is the empirical research of the ideology status, problems and reasons of contemporary ideology education of college students. The empirical research selected 528 students in 6 universities in Chongqing, respectively analyzes the contemporary ideology status and mainstream ideology education status of college students, so as to points out the existing problems and possible reasons which cause these problems. This part has formed the logical intermediary of the research.The fourth part elaborates the countermeasures to strengthen the education of college students’ mainstream ideology in Micro-Era, which is the logical termination. This part mianly consists of the following sections: adhering to principles of combining unitary and diversity, stability and dynamics, universality and particularity; mastering methods of combining theoretical instillation and interactive communication, positive education and negative persuasion, off-line education and online education; enhancing the simplicity, clarity, and correspondence of college students’ mainstream ideology education content; constructing backbone team of college students’ mainstream ideology education through establishing rigorous selection mechanism, advanced personnel training mechanism and effective personnel management mechanism.
