Research On The Construction Of Global Production Network And The Innovation Performance Of Chinese Private Multinational Corporations

In recent years,Chinese private corporations were initiative to enter the international market and to utilize the resources of the host country to construct independent R&D and marketing network,manufacturing network,by the way of OFDI.This has changed the original situation as "passively embedded in the global production network of corporations in developed country".So,how is the global production network made by private enterprises in China developed?How does the global production network accelerate the development of the enterprise and what is the influence degree?These theoretical and practical problems need to be discussed in depth.On the basis of theoretical research,this paper uses relevant indicators of global value chain participation and those of the enterprises' network,innovatively build the indicators that measures the development level of multinational companies' global production networks from three dimensions,including global production network breadth,global production network strength and global production network difference.This paper also takes a comprehensive measurement and analysis of the construction level of the Chinese private multinational corporations' global production network by using the data of 256 private multinational corporations in Chinese A stock market from 2009 to 2016.The study found that:the development level of Chinese private multinational corporations' global production network is upgrading in general.Further research shows that the breadth and strength of the global production network of Chinese private multinational corporations are increasing in general,and the global production network type also shows an upgrading trend,upgrading from the global marketing network to the global manufacturing network and the global R&D network.So what determines the changes in the level of the global production network?Based on the methods of model deduction and econometric analysis,the paper finds that the production level is the key factor.Along with the increase of productivity,the global production network breadth become more widely through OFDI,the global production network strength is stronger,and the diversity of global production network is increasing along with the upgrade path from the global marketing network to the global manufacturing network and global R&D network.How does the global production network influence the growth of Chinese private multinational corporations?According to the principle of the industry generation Table,business representatives and global production network construction model represents,this paper selects four companies include Lenovo?Geely?HUAWEI andJoyson Electronics,and build the growth mechanism model of China private corporations through the longitudinal analysis and horizontal comparison on the global production network construction process and enterprise growth process,It is found that the growth of the enterprise under the global production network is a virtuous cycle of pursuing proprietary capabilities and network advantages in a way of internal and external coordination,it is not limited to the single internal or external development.The importance of the construction of the global production network is to create a network environment that is conducive to the continuous promotion of the proprietary capabilities of the enterprise by continuously establishing,expanding and adjusting the network relationship with utilizing the coupling effect between the proprietary capabilities of the enterprise and the advantages of the network,and the enhancement of proprietary capabilities will bring a more advanced and more optimized network.Thus,we can create more competitive network advantages,and forming a dynamic growth mechanism of mutual promotion between proprietary and network advantages.On this basis,taking into account the continuous availability of data,this paper empirically examines the impact of global production network construction on the innovation performance of China's private transnational corporations.It is found that the breadth of global production network can obviously promote the improvement of innovation performance of Chinese private enterprises,and the positive effect is gradually improved with the extension of the network construction period.The strength of the global production network can also promote the innovation performance of Chinese private enterprises.With the extension of the network construction period,the promotion effect shows a trend of rising to decreasing.The difference of global production network can positively affect the innovation performance of Chinese private enterprises.As the multinational companies upgrade from the global marketing network to the global manufacturing network and the global R&D network,the enterprise innovation performance has also gradually improved.Finally,this paper proposes that:the government should increase financial support for the Chinese private multinational corporations to build global production network.The enterprises should be treated differently according to the different development targets,and should choose a suitable development path for themselves.The society should increase the provision of professional services.In this way,we can promote the global production network and foster a number of internationally competitive multinational corporations.
