The Expansion Of Enterprise Research And Development Area Boundary,Heuristic And Innovation Persistence

At present,China’s economic growth rate shows a significant downward trend,one of the important reasons is that the "fatigue" of scientific and technological innovation has an increasingly obvious inhibitory effect on the sustained economic growth.And the root of this lies in the failure of enterprises to achieve the sustainability of technological innovation.In other words,due to the insufficient acquisition,integration,absorption and utilization of enterprise innovation resources,the independent innovation of enterprises is limited,thus failing to effectively improve the innovation sustainability of enterprises.There are many factors influencing the sustainability of enterprise innovation,including enterprise level,such as whether the enterprise actively "goes out" to expand the regional boundaries of research and development,and enterprise external level,such as social resources.It is a complex dynamic innovation process for enterprises to expand the regional boundaries of research and development,On the one hand,it can bring heterogeneous and complementary innovation resources to enterprises;on the other hand,it is likely to cause low innovation efficiency due to unreasonable layout of R&D branches,all of this is closely related to the development structure of enterprise R&D regional boundaries.At the same time,At the same time,the expansion of the research and development area boundary easily causes the uncertainty of the innovation environment,and in this situation,the heuristic of the management team can effectively weaken the environmental uncertainty,save decision-making time and cost to achieve "ecological rationality",which is an effective way to promote enterprise innovation.Furthermore,enterprises have different social resources,there are some differences in the effect of continuous innovation.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the relationship between enterprise R&D regional boundary expansion structure,heuristic,social resources and innovation sustainability to realize enterprise independent innovation and sustainable economic development.Our research systematically sorts out and summarizes the literature related to enterprise R&D regional boundary expansion,heuristic rules,social resources and innovation sustainability.And on this basis,combining with the exploratory case study,discusses the relationship between the boundary extension structure of enterprise R&D region and the continuity of enterprise innovation,analyzes the direct influence of heuristic rules on innovation sustainability in the context of R&D region boundaryexpansion,and further studies the interactive effect of heuristic rules on innovation sustainability in the context of R&D region boundary expansion,as well as the moderating effect of enterprise social resources.Based on this theoretical model,this paper takes the data of 244 listed enterprises in China’s manufacturing industry from2008 to 2017 as samples,measures relevant variables,and carries out statistical test on the theoretical hypothesis.The results show that :(1)the regional diversity of the boundary extension structure of enterprise research and development region is conducive to promoting enterprise innovation sustainability,while there is an obvious inverted U-shaped relationship between regional dispersion and innovation sustainability.(2)in the context of R&D region boundaries,the heuristic of management team play a significant role in promoting enterprise innovation sustainability,but the opportunistic creative heuristic have a greater impact on enterprise innovation sustainability than the opportunistic heuristic.(3)the co-use of regional diversity and opportunity-based heuristic rules enhances enterprise innovation sustainability,while the co-use of regional dispersion and opportunity-based heuristic rules strengthens the inverted U-shaped relationship with innovation sustainability.(4)social resources such as regional institutional level of corporate headquarters and political association of senior executives have significant positive moderating effects on the interaction and innovation sustainability of regional diversity and opportunistic heuristic rules,regional decentralization and opportunistic creative heuristic rules,respectively.Based on existing theories,We have carried out further research and put forward some new perspectives and viewpoints,which supplement and improve the current research to some extent.The contributions of this paper mainly include:(1)Based on the open innovation environment,this paper discusses the relationship between the regional structure of r&d boundary expansion and innovation sustainability by combining the viewpoints of international business and economic regional schools and the practical needs of Chinese enterprises to expand the r&d regional boundary to realize sustainable innovation.The connotation and characteristics of enterprise r & d regional boundary extension are clarified,and the empirical research results of R&D regional boundary extension are enriched.(2)Based on cognitive and behavioral perspective,this study explore corporate r&d area boundary development under uncertainty environment management team heuristic rules to the mechanism of action of sustainable innovation,expand and innovation research extends the research areaboundary,extend relevant research development area boundary from a macro level to enterprise micro level,for enterprise innovation and sustainability research provides a new way of thinking.(3)This study proved the enterprise research and development of regional development in the process of research and development area border development structure,heuristic rules,social resources and innovation persistent intrinsic relations,demonstrates the research and development area boundary expand structure and interaction mechanism of heuristic rules in the regulation and social resources,opened the enterprise research and development area boundary expansion effect on continuous innovation logic of "black box".
