Effect Of Foxtail Millet Growers' Parcipation In Industrial Integration

China is the largest foxtail millet production and consumption country in the world,with planting area and output accounting for 80% and 85% of the world respectively.Compared with other bulk crops,foxtail millet industry is still in its infancy.How to reasonably introduce new industrial development mode,improve the quality of industrial development and stimulate the market vitality of business entities is an urgent problem.It is difficult to promote industrial transformation and upgrading by adopting traditional industrial development ideas.However,for foxtail millet,a traditional agricultural industry,industrial integration,as a new format,can overcome the disadvantages of traditional development of foxtail millet industry.By extending the industrial chain and enhancing the value chain,the regional resource endowment advantage can be transformed into industrial and economic advantages,which can promote the industrial transformation and upgrading.It brings new support and new path for the expansion of industrial scope.Of course,the continuous promotion of industrial integration needs government intervention,but the implementation effect depends on the rational decisionmaking behavior of farmers.Therefore,how to effectively promote foxtail millet growers to participate in industrial integration and enhance the participation effect has become the key to improve the high-quality development of foxtail millet industry under the condition of limited resources,and it is also a practical problem that must be faced to realize the integration and development of foxtail millet industry.So,what effects will foxtail millet growers have when they participate in industrial integration? What kind of mechanism are these effects exerting? The answer to the above questions is the key to understand the mechanism of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration,which has important theoretical and practical significance to improve the integration effect of foxtail millet industry.Based on the perspective of industrial integration,on the basis of systematically combing the relevant research results at home and abroad,according to the guidance of industrial integration theory,bounded rational decision-making theory,industrial organization theory,transaction cost theory,etc.,this paper uses the survey data of 1058 foxtail millet growers in Hebei,Shanxi,Inner Mongolia,Shaanxi and other nine provinces(regions)to analyze the current situation of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration The characteristics and effects of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration are constructed by selecting appropriate surrogate variables.By using a variety of mathematical models and empirical analysis methods,this paper investigates the internal mechanism of the technical effect,production effect,market effect and income effect of foxtail millet growers' participation in industrial integration,and puts forward some suggestions for promoting foxtail millet farmers' active participation in industrial integration in order to provide theoretical and empirical support for the better and faster development of Chinese foxtail millet industry.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The comprehensive evaluation index system is constructed from six aspects: the extension of foxtail millet industry chain,the multi-functional expansion of foxtail millet industry,the integrated development with service industry,the increase of income of foxtail millet farmers,the improvement of industrial quality and efficiency,employment and poverty alleviation.From the comprehensive ranking of industrial integration development level,Shanxi,Hebei and Henan provinces rank first in the country,and Guangxi ranks first in terms of integration level.The comprehensive scores of three provinces,Hubei and Yunnan are at the lowest level in China;on the whole,the development level of foxtail millet industry integration is steadily rising,and the degree of industrial integration is deepening;in terms of the national average value of each subsystem,the score of industrial quality improvement and efficiency improvement is the highest;the level of the integration of foxtail millet industry in different regions shows a gradual weakening trend of "Northeast-North-Northwest-South".(2)According to the survey sample statistics,in 1058 valid samples,771 foxtail millet farmers have paid attention to industrial integration policies,accounting for 72.87% of the total samples;287 foxtail millet farmers have never paid attention to industrial integration policies,accounting for 27.13% of the total samples,indicating that most foxtail millet farmers pay attention to industrial integration and related policies through various channels.The number of foxtail millet farmers who are not willing to participate in industrial integration is very small,only 52 households,accounting for 4.91% of the total sample number;the number of foxtail millet farmers who are very willing to participate in industrial integration is 859,accounting for 81.19% of the total samples.Only 12 households,accounting for 1.13% of the total samples,think that the risk of industrial integration is very high,accounting for 1.13% of the total number of samples,and 55 households,accounting for 5.20% of the total number of samples,show that most farmers believe that the risk of industrial integration is relatively small.(3)This paper measures the participation of foxtail millet growers in industrial integration from five dimensions: participation behavior,participation degree,participation mode,participation link and participation performance,which reflects the basic characteristics of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration systematically and comprehensively.The farmers' enthusiasm and willingness to participate in industrial integration are higher.Policy cognition,value cognition and risk cognition have significant direct impact on the integration behavior.Policy cognition and risk cognition not only directly affect the integration behavior,but also indirectly affect the integration behavior through the integration intention.The evaluation index system of the degree of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration was constructed from the aspects of participation links,participants,participation channels,participation depth and participation validity.The results showed that the effective participation degree of grain farmers was polarized.The mode of foxtail millet farmers' participation in industrial integration can be divided into four modes: retail operation,family operation,cooperative operation and business operation.The process of foxtail millet growers' participation in the integration is divided into three categories: participation in “production and prenatal”,“production + processing” and “production + processing + sales”.From the four subsystems of economic performance,service performance,management performance and social performance,this paper constructs the performance evaluation index system of grain farmers' participation in industrial integration.(4)Through the empirical test on the technical effect of foxtail millet growers' participation in industrial integration,it is found that industrial convergence has significant impact on whether to adopt light,simple and efficient technology,technology input and the number of technology adoption,among which,the impact on whether to adopt and the number of adoption is positive,and the impact on technology input is negative.The adoption rate of five technologies in industrial convergence has passed the significance test,which shows that participation in the integration can improve the adoption rate of five technologies.The influence of fusion degree on technology 1,technology 4 and technology 5 passed the significance test.From low to high,the technology adoption rate of different integration modes is in the order of retail operation < family operation < cooperative operation < business operation.The results show that with the gradual improvement of the integration model,more and more new technologies will be adopted,especially the adoption of light,simple and efficient technologies.At the significance level of 1%,the variables involved in industrial integration have positive effects on the quantity of light,simple and efficient technology input and technology adoption respectively,and the influence on technology 1,technology 2,technology 4 and technology 5 has passed the significance test of 10%,and the coefficient is positive,which indicates that the deeper the farmers participate in the integration process,the higher the adoption rate of the four technologies.(5)Through the empirical test of the production effect of foxtail millet growers' participation in industrial integration,it is found that the industrial convergence variables have a significant positive impact on the production efficiency of foxtail millet farmers,which indicates that participation in industrial integration helps to improve the production efficiency of foxtail millet farmers.With the deepening of integration,the level of production efficiency is also gradually improved.Different degree of integration has a significant positive impact on the production efficiency of foxtail millet farmers,which shows that with the deepening of integration degree,the level of foxtail millet farmers' production efficiency is also gradually improved.From small to large,the average production efficiency of different integration modes is in the order of retail operation < family operation < cooperative operation < business operation.At 9 different quantiles,the influence coefficient of industrial integration on the production efficiency of foxtail millet farmers all passed the significance test,and with the increase of the quantile,the industrial integration coefficient showed a gradual increase trend,and the impact on the production efficiency of foxtail millet farmers was deepening.The effect of integration participation on foxtail millet farmers' production efficiency is not significant.(6)Through the empirical test on the market effect of foxtail millet growers' participation in industrial integration,it is found that the participation in industrial integration can significantly reduce the search cost,negotiation cost and execution cost in the transaction cost of foxtail millet farmers.Industrial convergence has significant impact on the three proxy variables of market entry ability,which shows that participation in industrial integration can improve the overall market entry ability of foxtail millet farmers.Industrial convergence has significant impact on the three agent variables of market retention ability,which shows that participation in industrial integration can improve the grain agricultural integration.(7)Through the empirical test of the income effect of foxtail millet growers participating in industrial integration,it is found that the average per capita total income of the foxtail millet farmers participating in the integration is 56.18% higher than that of the foxtail millet farmers who do not participate in the integration.From the perspective of different income structure,industrial integration has a significant positive impact on the per capita operating income and wage income of foxtail millet farmers.The contribution of industrial integration to the income gap of foxtail millet farmers is 27.13%.Different degree of integration has a significant impact on the per capita total income,per capita operating income and per capita property income of grain farmers,but has no significant impact on per capita wage income.The effects of different integration modes on the per capita total income,the per capita operating income,the per capita wage income and the per capita property income of foxtail millet farmers passed the significance test,but the impact on the family transfer income was not significant.The effects of integration on the per capita total income,per capita operating income,wage income and property income of foxtail millet farmers all pass the 10% significance test,and the direction is positive.In view of the theoretical analysis and empirical test results,this paper proposes the following suggestions: enhance the publicity of industrial integration policy,improve the participation consciousness of foxtail millet growers;cultivate new agricultural business entities and build the industrial integration management system;strengthen education and training to enhance the participation ability of foxtail millet growers;innovate and improve the interest linkage mechanism to ensure the benefits of foxtail millet growers' participation in the integration;follow the development law of industrial integration and do a good job in the prediction and planning of industrial integration scientifically;strengthen scientific and technological support to improve the development efficiency of foxtail millet industry;strengthen brand building,guide consumption and extend the foxtail millet industry chain;improve the policy support system and improve the accuracy of subsidies.
