Abstract/Summary:
Scope and method of study. The intent of this project was to help the members of his church, the Opening Door Ministries Church of India (ODMCI) increase the knowledge of personal evangelism in order to reach out the gospel of salvation to the non-Christian Meiteis of Manipur. The purpose of this study was to examine the increase of personal evangelism knowledge on the parts of the disciplers who actively participated in the evangelism seminar training. To meet the needs of his hope, the researcher had designed a six-week evangelism seminar training course with thirty one students, twenty men and eleven women. The hope of the seminar was that the task of winning at least five new converts should be achieved by each discipler within a period of five months so that the face of church growth and the extension of the Kingdom of God would be quite visible. Broadening the potential of each individual believer required winning the lost souls of the Meiteis of Manipur for Christ.;Findings and conclusions. From his own personal experiences and data collected from the pretest and posttest questionnaire, the writer expected this special method of one-on-one evangelism to be used even in the future too, as it was and is the most effective evangelism method for the Meiteis. Just after the seminar sessions, data were collected and compiled to compare the effects of the seminar. The data revealed that the highest growth margin occurred in the area of acquiring personal evangelism knowledge which was depicted by questions 30-32. The answer on question 30 was in the first place. Personal commitment on person to person evangelism for winning the lost souls for Christ based on questions 31 and 32 was in second place, even though question 13 focusing on spiritual growth ranked the same. Both written and oral responses to questions on pre-test, post-test questionnaire and discussion questions together with the writer's own observations concluded that the group indicated development of evangelism knowledge in three areas: personal commitment for evangelism, winning the lost souls (non-Christian Meiteis) and spiritual growth. Each participant felt the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the whole seminar.
