Abstract/Summary:
This study was enacted in order to examine the author's leadership through the completion of the creation on an online course for Thorpe University. Best practices in online learning, pedagogy, and course design were explored through the use of qualitative data collection methods involving an open-ended questionnaire and interviews. A journal was also kept recording actions and thoughts in order to examine espoused leadership theories, as well as theories-in-use. Findings indicate that best practices in online learning remain under investigation, but that Thorpe employees are finding trends particular to this University. The project also unveiled the difficulties experienced by programs choosing to undertake the project of developing and growing an online program.
