Abstract/Summary:
In a large organization, there is a high level of uncertainty whether communication among agents has been received. Depending on the events in an organization, the use of communication affects the uncertainty and performance of the organization. For example, in an organization with a dynamically changing environment and a high rate of unexpected events, communication reduces uncertainty and increases performance. On the other hand, in an organization with a stable environment and a low level of uncertainty, communication could potentially add more time delays and would affect the efficiency of the organization.; Studying real organizations is expensive and difficult. To study routine and non-routine organizations, there is a need to develop a methodology that will test and analyze the effects of communication on the organizational performance. In this research, various frameworks based on organization theory will be modeled to investigate how they relate to real-world organizations.; The goal of the research is to use network analysis and collaborating intelligent agents to test, analyze, and evaluate the effects of communication policies on the performance or response of the organizations using simulation tools and to learn how these simulations compare to real-world organizations.
