Toward an effective method of spiritual discipline to the student in a theological institution

Spirituality is a relationship. This means that man is a being who makes a relationship since he was created. A healthy human being refers to the man who keeps a sound relationship with God, with himself, with his neighbor and with the nature. This study has tried to encourage the relationship with God through the spiritual discipline of prayer and through the spiritual discipline of meditation the scriptures. It has tried to encourage the relationship with the self through self-respect and self-esteem heart. For the relationship with the neighbor it trained, focusing on the practice of love. For the relationship with the nature, it has focused on protecting the nature, being with it and rejoicing in it.;He also realized that the spiritual discipline of the seminary students is all the more important for the kingdom of God.;The following method has been used in this study. This researcher chose the theological students of Han Sei University as the subjects of this study and gave them a training of some 100 hours through lectures and the community life. He compared the state of the students, namely, the students' state before the training and after it. This researcher proposed five hypotheses. The students who receive the training will show a change toward maturity in terms of the relationship with God and in the prayer life and in the life of the scripture reading and meditation. They will have the improved self-respect in terms of the relationship with the self. They will have mature personal relationship with their neighbors. They will aspire for the spiritual life in many of the concrete fields of life.;This researcher has observed a wonderful change as the statistics of the training results show. In this study the researcher asserts that the teaching of spirituality is a must in today's theological education as Jesus taught his disciples.;This researcher has made a biblical, historical and theological study, referring to many materials and literatures. This study led this researcher to realize to discipline spirituality is to participate in the Christian tradition.
