Abstract/Summary:
Three different approaches for doing scientific research in psychology are presented and compared. These approaches are the traditional positivistic approach commonly used within psychology at the present, Giorgi's phenomenological psychology approach, and Ossorio's Descriptive Psychology approach. The goals of the research are: (1) to explore and comparatively analyze these three approaches, and (2) to explore whether there are possibilities for the integration. These approaches are compared and contrasted for their associated goals, processes, and outcomes and a possible model for their integration is proposed.
