This dissertation examined the effects of female sexual relationships while incarcerated on post release psychological functioning. Potential relationships among demographic variables and post release psychological functioning were also examined. Levels of self reported post release psychological functioning was compared across three categories of inmate sexual relationships: abstinence, bartering, and consensual. This dissertation suggests future research and policy implementations regarding prison sexuality so as to protect inmates, facility staff, society, and contribute to the reduction of recidivism. |
