This paper takes Lebang Literature,a collection of Pure Land Literature compiled by Zong Xiao,a monk of the Tiantai Sect in the Southern Song Dynasty,as the object of study,and tries to reveal the blending situation between the Tiantai Sect and the Pure Land Sect in the Song Dynasty,the development of the Pure Land Belief in the whole society and the basic creation of the Pure Land Literature in the Song Dynasty.First of all,as far as the integration between Tiantai Sect and Pure Land Sect is concerned,it is true that "teaching and acting on Tiantai Sect will return to Pure Land".The compiler of this book is Zong Xiao,a Buddhist monk of Tiantai Sect.He is a Buddhist heir who knows the rites of four minds and is a high-ranking monk who pays equal attention to both teaching and practice.Most of the texts in Lebang Literary Category were written by Pure Land practitioners with Tiantai Sect background,reflecting the views of the monks of the Song Dynasty on Pure Land Family.In their view,the Pure Land Family,Pure Land Faith and the doctrine of Tiantai Sect are interlinked,and the latter can effectively interpret the former.Not only that,Zong Xiao also tried to construct the pedigree of Pure Land Sect through this collection,making it a parallel sect with Tiantai,Zen,law and other Buddhist schools.The integration of Tai and Jing is not only the main purpose of the compilers' attempt to express by means of Lebang Literary Classes,but also the actual reflection of the close connection between Tian Tai Zong and Jing Tu Zong in Song Dynasty.However,due to the nature of the selected editions of Lebang Literary Classes,there are also texts expressing the views of Zen Pure Unity and other different from Tiantai Pure Land.These are also noteworthy.Secondly,the belief in Pure Land prevailed in the Song Dynasty,and there were many practitioners.They imitated Huiyuan,a monk of Lushan Mountain Forest Temple in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,and joined together to recite Buddha,making it the most important mode of organizing Pure Land practice in the Song Dynasty.The organization of Lotus Society not only promoted the creation of Pure Land Literature,but also created a good atmosphere for the further dissemination of Pure Land Belief.In this social environment,believers not only spread across all occupations and strata of society,but also inherit from generation to generation among believers,making the Mituo Pure Land believed by the whole family,the Pure Land Family practiced by the whole family,and the Past West became the purpose of each member's practice.In addition,the popularity of Pure Land belief can be reflected by the writings of Pure Land books,the construction of Pure Land temples and sacred images,and the spread of the story of past life.Pure Land of Practice is no longer a school of things,but a religious practice that affects people's behavior.Finally,compared with other works on Pure Land theme in the same period,the biggest difference of Lebang Literature Category is that the proportion of literary texts in the included texts is very high.Most of these literary texts related to Pure Land are based on the doctrine of Confucianism and aim at spreading beliefs.They have distinct religious characteristics.Its writing is a second creation in the form of classical literature on the basis of the passages of the Three Confucian Classics of Pure Land.It is not only an aesthetic interpretation of the relevant doctrines,but also creates an artistic world different from Zen literature and secular literature.The other part of literary texts is closely related to religious practice in Pure Land.As a record of religious practice,it also has certain literary value.However,no matter what kind of text,the attention to the issue of life and death and the persuasion of the Pure Land of Practice are indispensable elements,and also the embodiment of its literary value.In a word,although Lebang Literary Category is a collection of works,it is a microcosm of the development of the Pure Land in the Song Dynasty.From this,we can get a better understanding of the literature,literature and culture of the Pure Land in the Song Dynasty.
