Since the establishment of Bauhaus in 1919,the exhibition has become a tool and platform for Bauhaus to reflect, spread and explore new ideas.Gropius first took Bauhaus out of the country in Calcutta,India in 1922,and then held the first comprehensive Bauhaus exhibition in Weimar in 1923,which not only shocked the art and design at that time in terms of ideology, but also played a positive role in the continuation of Bauhaus in Weimar at that time. After that,Bauhaus teachers and students appeared in the United States in individual or small scale exhibitions.Until 1930,the first relatively complete Bauhaus exhibition was held at Harvard. The impact of the exhibition went far beyond the exhibition itself. Many Bauhaus arrived in the United States for the first time, which also provided preparation for the great migration of Bauhaus to the United States. This exhibition not only gave Bauhaus a voice in the United States, but also promoted the collection, dissemination and education of Bauhaus in the United States. In 1938,The Museum of Modern Art in New York held "Bauhaus 1919-1928",which became another important exhibition of Bauhaus in America. This exhibition shows the American cognition of modernism, and the more popular communication makes Bauhaus an important starting point for the development of modern American design. With such a historical context as the main line, this paper arranges and explains the exhibitions held by Bauhaus in the United States, especially focuses on the 1930 exhibition of Bauhaus in Harvard and the 1938 exhibition of Bauhaus in The Museum of Modern Art(Mo MA)of New York, which is called "Bauhaus 1919-1928".From the exhibition background, exhibition content, exhibition presentation method, curator’s position and motivation, exhibition effect, etc.
