Albers didn’t attend Eaton’s basic courses registered at the Bauhaus school until he was 31 years old, and before that he studied extensively at various art schools in Germany as an art teacher. From 1913 to 1920, he studied art in Berlin and Munich, but it was at the Bauhaus that his most important educational achievements were achieved. His persistence in reflection and exploration of art led him to give up what he had achieved and re-open an innovative way of learning, which was inspired by the design concept of the Bauhaus as well as the theory of teaching benefiting teachers as well as students, and thus was given play to its greatest benefits. As a result, he stood out among students at the Bauhaus. All this above made him stay and hired as a "young master" at the institute. As one of the earliest graduates at the Bauhaus Institute, the first selected teacher as a graduate identity, and the last of the members to leave the school under Nazi oppression when the Bauhaus was forced to disband officially. Albers not only participated and experienced the historical development at every stage of the Bauhaus, but also played an important leading role in the most important modernist transformation process of the Bauhaus. And more important than that, it was he who promoted the Bauhaus concept. Therefore, it was not an overstatement to call Albers a Bauhaus master, for which he deserved it. But if he only wore the aura of the Bauhaus, the young master couldn’t not become an important figure in the history of modern art in the twentieth century, in which men of talent came out in succession. The reason why he could occupy an important place in the history of modern art in the twentieth century was that he had played a profound influence on the development of modern art and made great contributions to modern art design education. Based on this, it was not a bad idea to call him “a master in the history of modern art”.
