It can be said that Marx and Nietzsche in the 19th century pointed out the crisis of nihilism in capitalist society from the perspective of capital and culture.Continuing the work of Marx and Nietzsche,we need to ask whether the crisis of nihilism has further aggravated as the entire human society enters an increasingly tightly integrated world era structured by modern technology?Has nihilism expanded into a global crisis?Throughout the philosophical history of the 20th century,we find that the work of Heidegger and Foucault updated the philosophical connotation of nihilism. The two philosophers provided important and unique reflections on today's nihilism crisis from a technical perspective.Heidegger has made essential regulations on technology in the historical perspective of metaphysics. This regulation attempts to reveal the fundamentally significant events that are happening in the technological age:the essence of modern technology reduces all beings to controllable and productive,Equipable resources. The entire human planet has entered an era in which technology is sorted and planned by the essence of technology.Mankind has been completely handed over to technology and has become a resource that can be used and consumed at will by the expanding modern technology.Through the exploration of technology and technology politics,Heidegger and Foucault jointly identified that the ever-expanding modern technology has caused a serious crisis of nihilism.Technological nihilism has two connotations:First, humans have been domesticated by technology into functional machines,or in other words, humans have become technological animals shaped, controlled, managed, guaranteed, and equipped by technological power. This means that human beings have been reduced to resources that can be utilized to the maximum by the technological system, and human sacredness, mystery, and sublime have been deconstructed.Second, the offensive of technology on humans is more than simply shaping humans into It is a functional machine, but the extinction and production of human beings. This is embodied in the fact that fascism, totalitarianism, and modern biological genetic technology have reduced humans to insignificant things, and the basic meaning of existence has been deconstructed.Obviously,Heidegger and Foucault combined the specific situation of the era to further explain the issue of nihilism. The ever-expanding modern technology or power technology will cause a more serious problem of nihilism than Nietzsche's nihilism.Heidegger and Foucault are not nihilists, they provide different solutions to overcome technological nihilism.Heidegger has been walking on a road to question existence throughout his life. For Heidegger, only by establishing a deep relationship with existence can people truly get a meaningful life.Foucault provides a more active practical strategy. For Foucault, resistance struggle and technological ethics can open up more creative space for the subject's existence, allowing the subject to imagine and establish new forms of existence.Today's Marxist theory must open up new theoretical approaches in multiple dialogues to actively respond to the problem of technological nihilism.Critical reflection on technology is in line with the spiritual essence of Marxist theory. The integration of the Frankfurt School and Foucault's philosophy of technology can more effectively promote the social criticism and transformation of technology.
