The Research On The Ethical Issues Of Big Data In Application

Data is one signification carrier that could exist outside entity.Big Data is one type of description for massive information.Big Data Technology is the tool that could grab meaning from data.Now,humans are constructing data world at high speed.In view of the utility of Big Data,pointing out the ethical issues of Big Data in application seems to be inappropriate.However,as data has been one kind of production factors today,the research on ethical issues of Big Data is extremely necessary.Firstly,it would promote the healthy development of Big Data itself.Secondly,it tends to influence the method validity when humans adopt Big Data to understand the world and change the world.Thirdly,it would facilitate Big Data's functions on promoting national governance and economic development as well as people's living standard.From the perspective of the interaction between technology and society,this dissertation studies the ethical issues of Big Data in application.Technology is both the result and the force of social development.Therefore,Technology Determinism brings about the main impacts of ethical issues of Big Data,and Society Determinism works as the primary reasons for ethical issues of Big Data.This dissertation mainly adopts Literature Research,Induction,Dialectics as well as Case Study to research the ethical issues of Big Data.In detail,Literature Research is used to read and arrange literatures.Induction is used for summarizing relevant ethical issues.Dialectics works as the main method for discussing the ethical issues of Big Data.Case Study is carried out to demonstrate viewpoints.In this problem-orientated dissertation,the ethical issues in Big Data application are divided into three aspects that are equality,information security and data environment.Especially,Data Gap,Data Hegemony,Privacy Invasion,Data Breach,Data Faking and Data Overload are chosen to be studied carefully.Data Gap and Data Hegemony are the noticeable equality issues caused by the application of Big Data.Equality is one of supreme values in human society today.In modern society,the concept of justice is based on equality.Data Gap would deepen the isolation among different areas and different groups,highlighting the separation of technology just like one barrier,which leads to more serious inequalities in society.Data Hegemony could put off technical innovations,create data detached islands and increase disadvantages for existing customers.The equality issues caused by Big Data application mainly result from the power's control over technology.Privacy Invasion and Data Breach are the obvious information security issues triggered by the misuse of Big Data.Information security is related to humans'freedom.Freedom is also one of supreme values for humans.As the economic value of data becomes more and more obvious,Privacy Invasion and Data Breach occur frequently for the purpose of seeking profit.Privacy Invasion and Data Breach would disappear the concealed identity of data subject and force people to live under Dataveillance constantly,leading to limited autonomy for human beings.The information security issues triggered by Big Data misuse are chiefly due to the capital's impact on technology.Data Faking and Data Overload are the typical data environment issues created by the application of Big Data.Data Faking goes against the virtue of honesty and credibility.Behind this phenomenon,it is the debate on truth and falsehood.The culture that signifier drives signified provokes the development of Data Faking.Data Faking would distort real world finally.Now,under the circumstance that humans are migrating to data world dramatically,as the basic issue of data ethics,the truth and the falsehood of data needs to be thought twice.Data Overload goes against the virtue of environment protection.When finite brains encounter infinite data,people would feel powerless.Additionally,high-speed and high-frequency data technology builds one fast culture which would give humans instant satisfaction.Getting involved in this fast culture for a long time,humans tend to get addicted to data technology and lose self-control abilities.The degradation of data environment caused by Big Data misuse makes humans feel overwhelmed.It seems to be that technology is shaping humans.Actually,it is the humans that reshape humans themselves via technology.The data environment issues in Big Data application reveal the interactive relationship between culture and technology.Faced with the ethical issues of Big Data in application,this dissertation proposes three data governance strategies.Firstly,optimizing Big Data Technology helps solve ethical problems.One way is to stick to the inherent characters of Big Data Technology.Another way is to add frugal rationality into Big Data Technology.The third way is to take ethical elements into account when improving Big Data Technology.Secondly,under the guidance of Deontology,according to principles of biomedical ethics and normative principles of information ethics,proposing general Normative Principles could work as the guiding norms for Big Data Ethics.Thirdly,based on the data laws from different countries,legal restrictions and suggestions are proposed in terms of data subject,data controller and data processor.Definitely,tlhrough the collaborative governance strategies from aspects of technology,ethics and law,the ethical issues of Big Data in application would be settled successfully,and the development of Big Data would be more rational.
