At the beginning of the 20 th century, various ideological trend of thoughts spread in Southeast Asia.As a relatively new trend of thought,Marxism once became a powerful ideological weapon of the national liberation movement in Southeast Asia.It played an important role in the formation of the modern nation-state in Southeast Asia, and has a significant and far-reaching impact on the regional development thereafter. In view of this, the dissemination and influence of Marxism should have a certain position in the study of Southeast Asian history. This article belongs to the category of world history research, taking the historical materialist dialectics as the research paradigm, drawing partly on the theories of politics, international relations and communication, adopting cross-cutting research methods, this paper establishes an analytical framework from the perspective of communication history, and studies the spread and influence of Marxism in Southeast Asia.Firstly, the historical objectivity of communication is discussed from the perspective of communication conditions. As the recipient of communication, the external conditions of communication in Southeast Asia are the revolution of Marxist and socialist political parties in Western suzerain countries, and revolutions in Russia,China and India. The internal condition of communication is the situation in the economic, social and cultural fields of the region itself. The dissemination of Marxism is a natural process of history in the early 19 th and 20 th centuries when both internal and external conditions are available.Secondly, this process has distinct inter-country and inter-regional presenting relations,so we can find the path of the communication process by studying this layer of presenting relations. There are three main paths: the transmission path of the suzerain;the transmission path of Russia,China and India;and the transmission path within the region.Thirdly, further in-depth analysis of specific communicators, communication organizations and publications in the communication path can provide a relatively micro perspective for the study of communication, and also provide specific cases for the study of the localization of Marxist communication. Finally, the dissemination effect of Marxism in Southeast Asia before World War II has two aspects: one is the influence on the Nationalist movement;the other is the influence on the traditional social culture of Southeast Asia.Marxism has promoted the independence of the nation-state in Southeast Asia, and has also promoted certain changes in the traditional society in Southeast Asia.To sort out and study this historical process will contribute to a deeper understanding of the formation of ethnic states in Southeast Asia before World War II,and to a more comprehensive understanding of the influence of Marxism on the historical development of Southeast Asia. |
