In accordance with the logical order from the “independent changing” individual to the“mysterious realm”,this paper elaborates Guo Xiang's thought of group-self harmony in three parts: the logical starting point, individual dimension and group dimension. It presents Guo Xiang's philosophy from both “horizontal” and “longitudinal” dimensions. The “horizontal” is the co-existence and the “longitudinal” is the historical dimension. It starts from the basic category of Guo Xiang's philosophy “independent change”,and forms a coherent system through“self-existence”,“self-nature”,“mutual cause and harmony” to “artifact independently changing in the mysterious realm”,which is from self-sufficiency to group-self harmony.Chapter 1 is the logical departure of group-self harmony. It just analyze two categories“independent change” and “self-existence”,which are Guo Xiang's basic presupposition, and demonstrates his anti-metaphysical characteristic.Combining his Qi theory, emphasis is laid on the fact that the "independent change" of the existence can be analyzed layer by layer, and each level has its own independence and has existed from the beginning,so as to avoid the problem of“generation”.Independent change makes individual self-sufficiency,which is the foundation of group-self harmony.Chapter 2 studies individual dimension of group-self harmony.First,it tells “self-nature' of all things generally to highlight individuality and discusses co-variation between self-nature and fate.Guo Xiang's view of time is summarized according to his emphasis on change and the co-existence of individuals with their encounters. Then it elucidates his thought of alienation and freedom according to the order of human nature, the loss of human nature and the return of human nature. In the process of returning to nature,Guo Xiang's attitude to argue and his view of truth should also be discussed with humans' prejudices.Self-suitability is not only an individual's own problem,it must be solve in the relationship between individuals——in the group.Chapter 3 will discuss group dimension of group-self harmony. In the section of “relative cause and getting along”,his view of space is summarized according to his emphasis on change and the coexistence of individuals with their encounters. On the basis of nature-fate co-variance,Guo Xiang interprets the causality of ordinary people as the nature and fate changes of the existence itself, compared with Hume's and Kant's philosophy to analyze Guo Xiang's view of causality, thus completely abandoning the theory of external causes.Logically,it can form harmony like “independently changing in the mysterious realm”,which is the theoretical basis of eliminating social alienation and building an ideal society. The order from individual to society is the same as that from “independent change” to “mysterious realm”.Guo Xiang's view of historical development also divides into three stages: primitive harmony——alienated society——harmonious return. It also elaborates Guo Xiang's critique of the view of “thick ancient but thin modern” and the historical view of changing, and analyses Guo Xiang's logic to infer an ideal society without a monarch or government. The discussion from individual to group conforms to the logic of “artifacts changing independently in the mysterious realm” and also embodies obvious characteristics of keeping pace with times, not only insisting on the ideal but also basing on reality.
