Research On The Theory And Method Of Type Design For Chinese Characters

Type design is becoming more and more important at a time when information exchange is extremely frequent.In the 1960 s,is given priority to with the type department of Shanghai institute of printing technology,the type of design department opened the prelude of Chinese modern print design,as China's modern typography design and research began,in the era of change and the change of the old and new technology,plays an essential role,for the development of Chinese letterpress printing industry made a significant contribution,widely influenced Chinese popular reading habits.Type department of Shanghai institute of printing technology,the role of the recent attention by everybody,but the lack of its print design theory and method system in-depth understanding,in this paper,from the Angle of design,use of history and image study,philology,visual psychology,printing plate making process and other related disciplines of knowledge and methods,combining with related historical data,interviews,word version,the picture such as literature,theory and method of type research and study of the system.This paper mainly solves the following main problems :(1)to clarify the gradual improvement of the type design method system in the type research office;(2)to construct the type design theory and method system of the type research laboratory;(3)try to restore the typographic design process of the typeface laboratory;In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper takes "time and technology,inheritance and reference,exploration and practice,process and presentation " as the logical guidance,and constructs four parts of the article.It is hoped that through this study,we can re-examine the origin of Chinese modern typography and promote current typography.Research has shown that Type department of Shanghai institute of printing technology in the process of the changes of times and technology has made a positive response,through "for traditional Chinese values aided with modern western management and technology strategy,through the inheritance of Chinese traditional calligraphy theory and reference for the Japanese type design theory,gradually formed in the exploration,study and practice of the Chinese characters printed type design theory and method system.The type design has influenced the aesthetic habits of modern and contemporary types in China,and its design heritage has benefited the Chinese character library industry and laid the paradigm foundation for the type design method of Chinese characters.
