We are now in an era of “object” in the contemporary society,which presenting unprecedented dynamic and spectacle.Under the industrialization and technicalization,the“object” has infinite extension meaning,which profoundly impacting on the development of philosophy,art,culture and life in our times.Objectis no longer the “other part” of human beings,but the mirror image,the extension,and even a part of human beings.The change of“object” has changed the dimension of the relationship between people and other objects,and also led to the change of artistic concepts and methods.The artistic expression with “object”as the main language has become the most distinctive feature of the continuous evolution of art since the 20 th century.As “the art of combined usageof different materials in the 20 th century”,Mixed Media/Mixed Mediums takes “object” as the artistic language,presenting the dynamic and spectacle,which reflects the change of the dimension of this relationship.With the appearance of a series of “object” in modern and contemporary art,the connotation of “object” continues to expand,and the semantic system of which has been reestablished,and began to appear as an independent language.As a specific language form of Mixed Media,the object forms different expression ways by using different materials and media,forms different language paradigms by using different “object views”,and turns different artistic language into the expression of “object character” by different ways of thinking.It also presents a new thinking on the relationship between “object” and human noumenon under the background of contemporary industry,science and technology,and intelligent culture.In the contemporary context,this turn of “object” constitutes the core power of the transmutation of Mixed Media language.In the turn of object,the object presents two dimensions: one is the “object” turns from material to physical property,and from the medium of language to the subject of language;the other is the object presents three main linguistic forms,namely “the trace state turn of the object”,“the aggregation turn of the object”and “the materialization turn of object from non-objects”,which forming an evolution of language contextturn from natural material medium to ready-made objects and from ready-made objects to non-material virtual objects.It has formed a linguistic aesthetic feature which going towards material,language,field,text,behavior and process,interaction and relationship.This dissertation takes the discourse of “object turning” as the research logic background,takesthe “object”as the perspective to demonstrate the above problems.The dissertation mainly includes the following parts: the first part traces the appearance of “object” in Mixed Media,analyzes and combs the origin of the evolution of Mixed Media language;the second part combs the development context and individual reality of Mixed Media in modern and contemporary context.By analyzing and summarizing the turning path and language characteristics of Mixed Media,it presents the overall appearance of the evolution of Mixed Media language.The third part explains the language paradigm of “object” by the presentation of different ways of expression and artistic cases of Mixed Media;the fourth part aims to present the artistic practice of Chinese artists in this “object” turn,so as to provide reference for Mixed Media research.The fifth part summarizes the aesthetic characteristics of“object”in the promotion and evolution of Mixed Media language;the sixth part respondsto the language turn of "“object” in Mixed Media from the perspective of art ontology,and explores how to use “object” and what kind of “object views” to carry out our art practice and convey our views on art and daily life.
