The "Cross-Straits Youth Employment,Entrepreneurship Base" is an important measure for Beijing to attract Taiwanese youths to Chinese mainland for "entrepreneurship,employment,and internship",and is an important practice for the policy of "Cross-strait integration of economic and social development ".The purpose of this article is to explore whether the policy implementation of the "Cross-Strait Youth Employment,Entrepreneurship Base(demonstration site)" can reflect the spirit of cross-strait economic and social integration,expand attracting Taiwanese youth to move Westward;promote the integration of Taiwanese youth into the economic and social life of Chinese mainland;and furthermore affect Taiwanese youths' political preferences.Author visited 20 of the cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship bases(demonstration sites)approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC located in the city of Beijing,Shanghai,and province of Jiangsu.Through interviews conducted with the operational and management team and Taiwanese youths at these aforementioned youth entrepreneurship bases,the author analyzed the implementation of this policy by the local governments,and analyze the achievements of these individual youth entrepreneurship bases or the youth innovation work achieved in the different regions.This article also used an electronic questionnaire to investigate the perception of the market environment in Chinese Mainland,social life,and the political attitudes of Taiwanese youths who participated in internship,employment and entrepreneurship in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai and the province of Jiangsu.The study found that:(1)These youth entrepreneurship bases in Beijing,Shanghai,and Jiangsu attracted miniscule number of Taiwanese youths to enter into entrepreneurship,employment,or internships.Operation of most bases has encountered difficulties,and except for the few cases of potentially sustainable development,the aforementioned youth bases have already experienced withdrawals,low operations,and even disputes with the Taiwanese youths at these bases.(2)The cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship base policy and other policies and measures that specifically benefits Taiwanese are not the main considerations for young Taiwanese to move westward to China and develop from there.The main factors affecting young Taiwanese to enter are mainland's economy and its market potential.(3)The influence of cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship base on the social integration and political preference of Taiwanese youths are insignificant.The chapters of this article are arranged as follows: Chapter 1 explains the structure of this article,and Chapter 2 establishes the theoretical framework and practical analytical indicators for the development of the cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship base policy.Based on this,the ideal policy goals of the cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship base and the evaluation indicators for policy execution are determined.Chapter 3 classifies and reviews the operating status of these cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship bases and the degree of which is being implemented.Chapter 4 analyzes the results of questionnaire surveys and discusses the economic,social and political impact the cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship bases have on Taiwanese youth.Chapter 5 summarizes the development and challenges of these cross-straits youth employment,entrepreneurship bases,the degree of influence they have on Taiwanese youths,and concludes with policy recommendations.
