At the current stage, the problem of aging in China is becoming increasingly prominent, and the accompanying elderly care is gradually receiving attention.Unlike the western developed countries, the development of China's social elderly service industry is still relatively lagging behind, and under the influence of traditional Confucian culture, people are more inclined to choose family pensions. This means that in the current ageing context, not only is the number of working-age populations declining, but elderly care issues may also affect working-time populations' working hours, places of employment,or human capital investment. Therefore, based on the existing literature, this paper conducts an empirical test on the above issues based on CFPS micro survey data. The specific content of each chapter of this article is as follows:Chapter 1 is the introduction. It mainly introduces the research background and significance, research ideas and methods,as well as possible innovations and deficiencies of this article.Chapter 2 is the literature review. This article mainly reviews the current research on aging and old-age care, and the impact of old-age care on children's labor supply.By summarizing and combing domestic and foreign literatures, the contributions and deficiencies of existing literatures are pointed out,and the research task of this paper is drawn.Chapter 3 is the core concepts and theoretical basis. This article mainly elaborates and defines the two core concepts involved in this article(that is,old-age care and labor supply),and then elaborates the family care policy from the aspects of collective decision-making model, family population structure and labor supply, and old-age care cost. Some theoretical basis for the impact of children's labor supply, and clarify the main research content and basic framework of this article.Chapter 4 analyzes the impact of potential elderly care on children's labor participation rate and labor time.It was found that the potential elderly care burden did not affect the child's labor participation rate, but affected the child's weekly labor time.Among them, the weekly labor time of non-only children and only children would increase by about 4 hours and 10 hours due to the potential elderly care burden,respectively..The increase in working hours of children due to the potential burden of old-age care is to cope with the potential increase in expenditures and decline in income caused by old-age care, but this does not mean that the total labor supply of the children throughout the life cycle will increase.Chapter 5 is the analysis of the impact of actual elderly care on children's labor participation rate and labor time. The results show that elderly care has a significant negative impact on the working hours of adult children in Chinese families.Among them, when children of non-single-child families are faced with the responsibility of old-age care, both husband and wife will provide family care together.Male and female children's weekly working hours will decrease by 7hours and 10 hours, respectively, and labor participation rates will decrease by12.5% and 14.5,respectively.When the children of the one-child family are faced with the responsibility of old-age care, the working time and labor participation rate of male children will increase, while the working time and labor participation rate of female children will decline even more.Chapter 6 is an analysis of the effects of old-age care on children's participation in non-degree education.Elderly care will reduce the probability of adult children receiving non-degree education, which will have a negative impact on their human capital accumulation.Among the families with non-only children,old-age care has a greater negative impact on the human capital accumulation of the husband, but does not show a negative effect on the human capital accumulation of the wife. For single-child families,old-age care has a negative impact on the human capital accumulation of the husband and wife.Shows a large negative impact. Moreover, the higher the education level of the children, the greater the negative impact. The increase in income level does not weaken the negative impact of old-age care on the human capital accumulation of non-only-child families. An important mechanism for capital accumulation.Chapter 7 is the analysis of the effect of old-age care on the labor mobility of children.Children's labor mobility will be affected by potential future elderly care as well as current actual care. Therefore, this chapter uses parents' existence as an explanatory variable to analyze children's labor mobility decisions. The results show that the presence of parents has a significant inhibitory effect on the inter-city flow of married children.Compared with non-only children, only children are affected more;compared with male children, female children are also more affected. Moreover, compared with short-distance labor mobility, parents have a greater impact on children's long-distance labor mobility.Chapter 8 is the main conclusions and policy recommendations.A brief summary of the research conclusions of this article is made, and then relevant policy recommendations are proposed based on the findings.Based on the research on the issues related to old-age care and children's labor supply, this article mainly draws the following conclusions: No matter from the quantitative aspect or the qualitative aspect,old-age care has a negative impact on children's labor supply.,Especially for single-child families and female children in the family, this impact is generally larger and more significant. Therefore,in order to make full use of the existing labor resources,it is necessary to alleviate the restraint effect of the burden of old-age care on labor supply through the development of the elderly service industry and the provision of policy support.
