Higher education advances the popularization of Marxism, which is an important content in ideological and political education. Its dominant character is the ideology. Through this way, higher education can transfer and develop political culture, foster future intellectual awareness of the value of the social mainstream identity and promote social unity in the spiritual and cultural level, which will benefit the development of social harmony. Consequently, how to play better higher education's major role during popularization of Marxism is an important matter, which relates to our nation's future development and social stability. The path research is aimed at the insufficiency on today's ideology education, which replies the time mission of overcoming the path dependence in this social reform period.The academic characteristics of Marxism, which is the combination of theory and practice, would determine the status of the path research. It seems that focusing only on the surface is not to touch the fundamental theoretical system to start from the path to study the popularization of Marxism of higher education; however, in practice, it is a problem-solving way to promote the development of its theory and practice. As Chairman Mao Zedong pointed out, "Our task is to cross the river, but we cannot do without a bridge or a boat. If we cannot solve the problem of the bridge or the boat, crossing the river is just empty talk. That is to say, if we cannot solve the methods about problem-solving, the task is only nonsense." Especially in the current background of the diversity of paths and increasing path dependence, it will undoubtedly has practical value to research from the vision of Marxist popularization path of higher education. The destination is to improve the effectiveness and appropriateness of ideological education.In this study, the research perspective is higher education and the research object is the paths of popularization of Marxism. According to the logic, ranging from theory to practice and from history to reality, the study framework is as follows:First of all, this dissertation clarifies conflict and association between popularization of Marxism and higher education in theory. The research indicates that universities are an important force to promote the popularization of Marxism; meanwhile, it is pointed out there exists conflict between epistemology and politics of higher education. The conflict is not irreconcilable but can be adjusted to social adaptation.Second, this dissertation probes the theoretical framework about path of the education of popularization of Marxism and describes the path content, structure, function and mechanism in academic way.Third, this dissertation reviews and sorts out the course in the past hundred years and path of popularization of Marxism in the contemporary era. Associated with the reality of path running, this dissertation also analyses the path dependence of the education of popularization of Marxism by using new institutional economics analytical tools.Fourth, an idea of path integration is proposed in this dissertation. It's extracted from Marxist classics which can generate new power; meanwhile other important ideas are discussed such as the content, characteristics and functions of path integration. What's more, this dissertation points out three integration measures:to share complementary advantages of main part of path, to develop extensively educational path resources and to produce new educational path.Finally, this dissertation discusses three approaches to realize the path optimization. The first one is to promote the socialization of education path. The second one is to enhance the life color of educational path, and the third one is to enhance the paths'cultural property.
