Choosing to study the problem of "actualization of the value of Olympic education in Chinese elementary and secondary schools" originates with the fact that the essence of Olympic Games is an educational perspective, the reality that physical education at Chinese elementary and secondary schools are ignoring the value of Olympic education as well as the fact that the value of Olympic education promotes the future development of physical education in elementary and secondary schools. The value of Olympic education has an enormous impact on psychological feelings, behavior trends, moral sublimation, cultural orientation and many other aspects of students at elementary and secondary schools. It also has effects that cannot be replaced by other methods. How to change the status quo that in reality, phenomena of going against the original educational value in physical education at elementary and secondary schools occur frequently? Focusing on the meeting point interlinking the value of Olympic education and that of physical education at elementary and secondary schools-----full and harmonious development of human beings, the author tries to explore the actualization of the value of Olympic education during physical education at elementary and secondary schools by sorting out the value of Olympic education.Adopting the methods of literature, questionnaire, investigation and interview as well as mathematical statistics, this paper objectively presents the status quo of physical education at elementary and secondary schools and finds the actual value of the value of Olympic education to physical education at elementary and secondary schools on the basis of the facts through field research and by selecting PE teachers and students from six elementary and secondary schools as the objects of investigation.Research into the value of Olympic education not only enables most students at elementary and secondary schools to understand and master the knowledge and cultural connotations of the Olympic Games, but also has an important and far-reaching educational significance in improving their sound personality and physical and cultural qualities as well as cultivating their values. A deep understanding of the value of Olympic education has a great theoretical and practical significance in promoting the development of physical education at Chinese elementary and secondary schools, improving physical and mental health of students at Chinese elementary and secondary schools, deepening physical education reform at elementary and secondary schools and promoting the development of the cause of physical education at elementary and secondary schools.Research results are:1 The educational value of the Olympic Games refers to the relationship of mutual need and satisfaction among the Olympic subject (man), object of the education of Olympic Games, Olympic educational relationships, Olympic educational activities, Olympic educational results, etc. The system of the contents of the value of Olympic education consists of the core, lateral and vertical systems. The value of Olympic education has five basic principles of benefiting harmonious development of the body and the mind, promoting peace, pursuing perfection, improving morality and promoting the emancipation of mankind. The carrier of actualizing the educational value of the Olympic Games is sports, sports skills, media, competition, education and training.2 The relationship between the value of Olympic education and that of physical education at elementary and secondary schools refers to the consistency of the philosophies between the value of Olympic education and that of physical education at schools, the consistency between the objectives of the value of Olympic education and that of physical education at schools, as well as the relationship of consistency of objectives, complementation of contents, expansion of forms and interaction of methods between the value of Olympic education and that of physical education at elementary and secondary schools.3 Main factors affecting actualization of the value of Olympic education include:the embarrassing status of physical education in schools, the marginalized status of Olympic education in school education, the lack of Olympic cultural qualities of PE teachers and the scarcity of Olympic teaching materials at elementary and secondary schools.4 Actualization of the value of Olympic education:borrowing six typical modes of host countries of the Olympic Games for achieving the value of Olympic education to localize the value of Olympic education. The means of actualization of the value of Olympic education in physical education:institutionally guaranteeing actualization of the value of Olympic education, increasing policy preferences, centering around the value of Olympic education, promoting school-based curriculum development of Olympic education, improving professional qualities of PE teachers, strengthening training of Olympic teachers, developing three-dimensional Olympic teaching materials, enhancing innovation and breakthrough of materials as well as using a wide range of activities on the theme of Olympic education to attract the active participation of students.
