The so-called "taking history as a mirror,we can see the rise and fall of history".As the source of western civilization,ancient Greece not only holds a leading position in mathematics,logic,art,philosophy and other fields,but also creates endless cultural treasures for later generations in the field of thought.The content of the ancient western physical education thought is also very rich,and academic research on this period is more focused on the education thought,but less attention to the physical education thought,lack of systematic research.Selection based on this,the ancient Greek to the European middle ages the historical period of the physical education thought as the research object,in ancient Greece,dig deep and finishing to the European middle ages on the basis of relevant historical materials,explore the ancient Greece to the development of physical education in the middle ages thought,not only helps us to re-examine the history of physical education thought,system arrangement for the physical education thought and research provides beneficial reference for the contemporary physical education thought system construction and the research to provide historical reference and enlightenment.This study takes Marx's historical materialism and dialectical materialism as the guiding ideology,and adheres to the principle of "theory emerges from history and combines history with theory",based on the philosophy of the body,using literature method,history method,comparative method,expert interview method,of different historical stages of ancient Greek to the medieval European physical education thought the social background and origin,representative and main ideas of physical education,characteristic and the historical influence has carried on the thorough analysis,comparison and research,mainly from the following conclusions and cognition:Firstly,based on people's understanding of the body,the thought of physical education from ancient Greece to the middle ages of Europe is mainly manifested in four aspects.From the period of ancient style to the period of Hellenization,based on the clear body image,the humanistic thought of physical education,which pursues the harmony of body and mind,was formed.In ancient Rome,physical education thought of practical tendency in pursuit of realistic value was formed based on the transformation of "instrumentality" of body image.In the middle ages of Europe,based on the alienation of body image,the ascetic thought of physical education inclined to pursue soul sublimation was formed.Secondly,ancient Greek to the medieval Europe four historical stages,the development performance of the physical education thought are as follows: early ideas of physical education in ancient Greece to the natural order of faith ? ancient times to the Hellenistic period of the physical education thought for the whole life to pursue ? Roman sports education thought of secular value ? the realization of the medieval religious theology of physical education thought in Europe.Thirdly,in the process of social development from ancient Greece to the middle ages of Europe,the formation and development of the thought of physical education is not only closely related to the development of physical education practice,but also the result of the complex internal and external dynamic factors in different historical stages from ancient Greece to the middle ages of Europe.Internal factors include the subjective drive of human nature cognition and the power drive of religious belief;External factors include sociopolitical drive,economic interest drive and military war drive.Fourthly,although the thought of physical education in different historical stages from ancient Greece to the middle ages of Europe has its own differences and characteristics,there are still some general characteristics in common.From the pointof view of physical education thought,it reflects the way of human body entering the world;From the perspective of the ideological tendency of physical education,it takes virtue as the value orientation of physical education.From the present way of physical education thought,it is embodied in the undifferentiated cognition of physical education.From the point of view of the ideological content of physical education,it embodies the unity of the theory and practice of physical education.Fifth,as for the development course of physical education thought from ancient Greece to the middle ages of Europe,on the one hand,it provides us with historical experience to grasp the law of the development of physical education thought: body view is the origin of physical education thought;Culture and belief are the direct driving force for the development of physical education thought.Economic foundation is the necessary condition for the development of physical education thought;The thinker's personal understanding is an important driving force for the development of the thought of physical education.On the other hand,it provides a realistic mirror for the construction and research of the contemporary ideological system of physical education.Firm belief is the fundamental motive force of constructing the thought system of contemporary physical education;To innovate and respond to the practical needs of physical education is the growing point of constructing the ideological system of contemporary physical education.The integration and reference of different thoughts is an important driving force for the development of contemporary physical education thought.
