In the report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that,with long years of hard work,socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.This is a new historical juncture in China's development.Stepping into the new era,our party's achievements in its theoretical innovation and the national economic development show the double spiral upward trend,but new situations like increasingly active social ideas and diversified value orientation,coexistence of mainstream and non-mainstream,violent conflicts of social thought confronting us make ideological and political education face more severe challenges.Therefore,it is imperative to find a more powerful theoretical faith as our spirit guide and learn from the historical logic of the development of the Chinese Communist Party that we should pay attention to the history of ideological and political education of the Party and through the historical changes of theories grasp the logical starting point of the development of ideological and political education in the new era,explore and absorb spiritual nutrients,and find out the driving force of the development of ideological and political education in the new era.It is necessary to explore the implementation path of innovative development of ideological and political education in the new era from the theory and practice of the ideological and political education of the older generation of revolutionaries.Based on this background,the research on the ideological and political education thought of Xu Teli,an outstanding educationist and revolutionist in our country,not only has the original significance of inheriting the revolutionary spirit,but also the realistic value of promoting the current development.Xu Teli's Ideological and Political Education Theory is the product of his educational practice in many years of revolutionary career.On February 1st,1877,Xu Teli was born in a poor peasant family in Hunan Province,and he died on November 28th,1968.He was an outstanding Chinese revolutionary educator in the twentieth century,the founder of the proletarian education enterprise in our country,the representative and pioneer of presenting new thought and initiating new education during the period of transition from old democracy to new democracy and socialist democratic in China,also the founder of Chinese education since the founding of the People's Republic.He has been hailed by the party's leader as "strong veterans","a saint for the day" and "the people's educator".In his 91 years of life,he has been tirelessly committed to exploring the path of saving the country,insisting on advancing with the time,eventually growing into a positive fighter of the democratic revolution,and his life path shows all the fine qualities owned by the Chinese revolutionary intellectuals.His good moral and the rich connotations of his ideological and political education thought have been highly recognized and praised by a batch of ideological and political education workers.Thus,the essence of his ideological and political education thought will not fade as the time changes.Based on the development of Xu Teli's thought of ideological and political education,this paper tries to analyze the historical stages,forming conditions,theoretical origin,main contents,main characteristics,main methods and contemporary enlightenment of his ideological and political education thought and then build a complete system of his ideological and political education thought in order to carry out and carry forward the important effect of ideological and political education thought of early revolutionaries and break through the predicament of ideological and political education development in the current transition period of China,further promoting the development of ideological and political education toward disciplinization.There are four chapters in this paper.The first chapter analyzes the historical stages of Xu Teli's ideological and political education thought.Through the combing of historical events and the analysis of Xu Teli's remarks,articles and reports in four differentperiods:the initial stage(1895-1925),the transition period(1926-1934),the mature period(1935-1948)and development period(1949-1968),the process of the evolution of his thought is presentedand the conditions for the formation of his thought and theoretical sources are explained.Asthe most important part of this paper,the second chapter explainsthe main content of Xu Teli's ideological and political education theory from six aspects:the understanding of ideological and political education,education on the outlook of life on the arduous struggle,public morality education with"five loves" as the core,education on teachers' work ethics,the connotation of the ideological and political education of youth,the ideological and political education of the Party members.This paper expounds the different aspects of Xu's ideological and political education thought,although each of these aspects has its own emphasis,it is an organic whole.The third chapter summarizes the practice method and main characteristics of Xu Teli's ideological and political education.That is:model demonstration,combination of reality and ideological mobilization,paying attention tomass line,and pay attention to ideological mobilization.The cross-use of these methods made Xu Teli's ideological and political education thought in different periods have strong pertinence.At the same time,it shares the five characteristics of Xu Teli's ideological and political education:outstanding characteristics of the Times,long-term practicality,broad masses,personal frankness and apparent effectiveness.Combining with the new challenges faced by the current ideological and political education,the fourth chapter proposes to further clarify the problems faced by the current ideological and political education of young people in China with the help of questionnaires and analysisand discuss the contemporary value of Xu Teli's ideological and political education thought from following aspects:to the cultivation of a new generation of this age,to the value orientation of ideological and political education,the enlightenment to normal education and teachers' work ethics cultivationand to the work of college counselors,especially focusing on how to train qualified builders and reliable successors of socialism,thus hoping to play a positive and exemplary role in promoting China's ideological and political education,especially for young college students.
