This research introduces TELEM,a Techno-Emotive Learning Environment Model, that has been developed to facilitate Game-Based Learning(GBL)and enhance Learner's Emotional Performance(LEP)in Educational Technology(ET)-enabled learning environment. The research intended to develop an ET-enabled learning environment which would evaluate learners' emotions and its impact on performance based on the theoretical development of cognitive, social and affective skills while interacting with an educational game.TELEM provides the web-based educational game for teaching Computer Studies to fifth, sixth and seventh-grade primary school learners.Computer Studies was selected as the course content because of the complexity of basic course concepts which is difficult for learners to understand and comprehend. This research evaluates the impact that GBL had on learners' emotional performance during the experimental study conducted on learners(ages 10–12 and 13–15).Although ample research has been conducted on educational games, yet they are scarcely used for teaching Computer Studies in schools. The game was developed by the researcher using Hypertext Pre-processor,and classes' teachers designed the quiz-based course content.LEP explores learner's emotion while interacting with GBL and their effect on performance. The learning outcomes were analyzed by comparing pre and post-test scores of learners who were initially taught conventionally and then using the Driver and Oldham model.Observations and questionnaire-based surveys were conducted from instructors and learners and analyzed using the mixed-method explanatory approach.A total of 91 learners and 16 instructors participated in the study coming from five schools in Abbottabad,Pakistan. Results indicated that learners' cognitive and affective skills are significantly enhanced as their visual and spatial factors of physical learning environment revamp. The results show positive effects on the social skills of learners due to the exposure towards GBL and a moderate improvement in learners' cognitive outcomes. The findings depict that learner's class-related and test-related positive activating emotions remarkably increase due to GBL.Furthermore, the results imply that GBL is a highly appreciated educational technology with an effective concern related to management and behavioral technology.Overall, the study proves that TELEM is a progressive model to revolutionize the educational process by enhancing positive activating and deactivating emotions of learners with improved performance.
