Etiquette Competition: The Internal Power Of Traditional Dragon Boat Race And Its Modern Adaptation

Dragon boat race is one of the most important folk activities of Dragon Boat Festival in South China,and also one of the important "etiquette marks" in the traditional chinese festival system.Now it also has many cultural identities,such as intangible cultural heritage,national sports,folk sports and sports.Among its numerous identities,sports has always been the mainstream direction of its modernization development.However,there are many difficulties on the way to the modern dragon boat race: on the one hand,the modern dragon boat race lacks cultural connotation and the promotion of dragon boat puts the cart before the horse;on the other hand,the traditional dragon boat race is restricted by multiple factors and cannot be developed.But what kind of culture does modern dragon boat race need? Where to find it? Can the traditional dragon boat race adapt to the modern times? Confucius said,"when the etiquette are lost,we ask for all fields.".In the same way,the author believes that the cultural connotation of modern dragon boat race should be found from its cultural source in the folk,and the folk traditional dragon boat race is its cultural source.Those places where the folk traditional dragon boat race is flourishing can show its modern adaptability.Based on this,this study,following the principle of cultural anthropology as a whole,conducted a long-term field study on the folk traditional dragon boat race prevailing in Mayang Miao Autonomous County of Yuanshui basin.On the basis of understanding the phenomenon of "one county,two systems" in the Double Dragon Boat Festival in Mayang County,this paper uses the diachronic method to restore the overall changes of the traditional dragon boat race in its five competition areas,trying to find the development trend and internal power of the evolution of the traditional dragon boat race;at the same time,it also combines the synchronic method to investigate the modern adaptation of its traditional dragon boat race,trying to explore the adaptability of traditional dragon boat race in the process of modernization.The results are as follows:1.The development right of traditional dragon boat race as a local "etiquette mark" belongs to the local people.Through the study of the living environment of the Mayang dragon boat race,the evolution process of the Double Dragon Boat Festival in the Yuanxiang River Basin,the formation of the "one county,two systems" and its legend,it is found that the traditional Mayang dragon boat race,the "etiquette mark",is born in the living environment of the local people.In the process of its nationalization,the dynasties in different periods only changed the cultural level of the local "etiquette mark" such as dragon boat race on the Dragon Boat Festival,which were not replaced or banned for a long time,and even the ruling class actively used them to educate the people.Therefore,the main force of the traditional dragon boat race is the local people in the community of life,and the people have the ability to become the master of their own local "etiquette mark".Instead of replacing it,the state should actively create more opportunities and corresponding guarantees for the folk traditional dragon boat race and people involved in Dragon Boat,so as to realize the integration of imagination community and life community,that is,to realize the ideal of family and country isomorphism.2.Community is the development trend of traditional dragon boat race.In the diachronic investigation,it is found that the traditional dragon boat race in Mayang has fully embodied the trend of mass organization in material,system and spirit,and its community nature is changing from "mechanical unity" to "organic unity".Such as the following: the material culture of the traditional dragon boat race will change to the community gift,its system culture will change to the diversified community dragon boat system,and its spiritual culture will form the diversified community etiquette competitive spirit.This trend shows that if in a relatively independent cultural space,chinese folk dragon boat associations can automatically form an orderly structure,resulting in a "self-organization" phenomenon.3."Etiquette competition" is the internal power of the inheritance of traditional dragon boat race.In the diachronic investigation,it is found that no matter what period of traditional dragon boat race,its economic basis is based on "etiquette economy",which is essentially a gift attribute.Therefore,"etiquette economy" and the spirit of "etiquette competition" contained in it are the main clues throughout the changes of dragon boat race in various periods,"etiquette competition" is the internal power of the inheritance of traditional dragon boat race.The reason why the traditional dragon boat race can surpass the times is not only that how important the traditional dragon boat race itself,but also that the etiquette competitive spirit contained in it always occupies a moral priority in its life community.4.Traditional dragon boat race can adapt to modern needs.The formation of the traditional dragon boat race area in Mayang county is gradually formed through the etiquette communication and etiquette competition ways of helping,inviting and stimulating.With the increase of Mayang people's participation in the external modern dragon boat race,the competitiveness of its traditional dragon boat race has also been enhanced,to a certain extent,the integration of the two events has been achieved.However,with the increase of the event bonus,the bonus has been alienated as the capital of inviting people to participate,which has touched the manpower bottom line of the event etiquette economy,resulting in the commodity attribute of the event exceeding the gift attribute.The traditional dragon boat race in Mayang uses the dual way of "gift attribute and commodity attribute" to maintain the gift attribute of the race with real name system,so that it does not damage its rich folk connotation,and realizes the industrialization of the race through the transformation of live broadcast platform.
