The transmission of life depends not only on physical genes,but also on spiritual and cultural elements such as language.Mother tongue nourishes the growth of life and is an important manifestation of one's life characteristics,which cannot be changed by one's will.Since the beginning of human life,mother tongue has been an inseparable component of life like blood flowing in human body,and has become an eternal memory integrated with life.Therefore,mother tongue is the brightest imprint of human life.It is accompanied by human life and is the most basic right and dignity in human life.However,when we look at human history from a broad perspective,we find that mother tongue has always been ignored and invisible.From the standpoint of Marxism,taking the perspective of life existence as the basic logical standpoint and ontology as the theoretical basis,this study first reviews,summarizes and analyzes the philosophical thoughts related to mother tongue.Placing the issue of mother tongue on a dynamic and temporal process of thinking,grounding on the needs and meaning of life of the native people,and understanding mother tongue as an significant prerequisite and foundation for education,this study further discusses the difficulties,significance and value of mother tongue education in the highly autonomous modern school environments,as well as its benefits in the future preservation and continuation of human civilization.In detail,this study places the existence of mother tongue in the time dimension of human life and discusses,namely,the occurrence basis,understanding dilemma,meaning explanation and generative results of mother tongue education in schools.Part one describes the beginning of mother tongue,the generative process of mother tongue education,and the existence of mother tongue education in schools,mainly from the mother tongue contained in life,spiritual character,emotional expression,as well as mother tongue as the characteristics of human nature and right to life.It analyses that the understanding of mother tongue education is subject to language thinking and the understanding of the essence of education;and school education,as a product of the development of modern society,is a highly independent educational field of human beings.It is closely connected with human social life as well as with human life.As a result,the mother tone education must exist in school education.Part two discusses the importance of mother tongue education from the perspective of human life.In real life,the understanding that mother tongue education exists in schools has not received serious attentions.Driven by instrumental rationality,the understanding of the meaning of mother tongue is deceived,and under the influence of the concept of technological superiority such as culture and language,the study of mother tongue education is suppressed,and the understanding of mother tongue education in schools has become a dilemma.Especially,driven by the instrumental rationality and squeezed by modern network language,mother tongue falls into a vacuum of lack of understanding.At the same time,the concept of language absolutism also hinders the maintenance of a healthy ecological environment for human mother tongue education.In view of this phenomenon,this paper mainly illustrates cases of the European colonial education in North American Indian areas,the Japanese militarism colonial education in Taiwan and Northeast China,and the colonial education in British India and French Vietnam.The cases mentioned above reflect the fact that people ignore the coexistence of various languages and cultures in the human world,which leads to the alienation between school and mother tongue,and makes school not become an ideal place for preserving and continuation of the mother tongue and its civilization.Part three,based on the understanding dilemmas above,explains the overall significance of mother tongue education in schools.First of all,the existence of mother tongue comes from people's understanding.To what extent people understand people determines their understanding of the value of mother tongue.From the deep explanation of the meaning of life given by mother tongue,this paper discusses the constructional foundation of the whole meaning of life revealed by mother tongue.Secondly,mother tongue education is a conscious education process to improve human life quality and wisdom.Human wisdom comes from the existence of mother tongue,and mother tongue education is a conscious education process to improve human wisdom.This part explains that the dignity of human life comes from the education of human mother tongue in the sense of survival.Finally,mother tongue education in school contains the overall significance of human social life,mainly reflected in the established relationship between school and society.One of the significance of school education lies in the extension and expansion of mother tongue education based on life existence.School mother tongue education is not only the basic education of imparting professional knowledge,but also the life process of transmitting and sharing human wisdom.Finally,the conclusions of this study are as follows.First of all,mother tongue is the foundation and source of human civilization.Only through the understanding of mother tongue can we understand the essence of human nature and understand the meaning of the origin of civilization.Mother tongue is an important basis of education,and also an important carrier to realize the purpose of education.Education serves both open-minded people and open society.Secondly,mother tongue education is an intellectual process of understanding human life.The logical starting point of mother tongue education is the overall observation and concrete practice of human life.Education should be integrated into the life of human society,and constantly feed back into human life,so as to realize its own fundamental purpose,namely human dignity.Mother tongue education in schools needs to "assemble" the whole meaning of life in human society.Specifically,the existence logic of school operation lies in finding new meanings from the continuation of human civilization.The original intention of school education is to express the meaning of human life wisdom,while mother tongue education can present the origin and value of the overall meaning of human life.To sum up,mother tongue education is the education of the meaning of human life,and its process is synchronized with the process of human life.Education,as an intelligent process to improve the quality of human life,is deeply integrated with human life.As a special social form,school is the epitome of human society,reflecting and expressing the overall meaning of human social life.Therefore,mother tongue,education and school all aim to improving human life and their value is to reveal the meaning of human existence and the true meaning of material and spiritual life.Based on the logic of life value of education,this study tries to explain and illustrate the basic principles of the inevitable existence of mother tongue education in the modern school field in which human beings are highly independent.
