20c70s, the methods of researching course had been changed from modern to postmodern. Now, the view of postmodern course has influenced mother tongue course a lot all over the world. In this dissertation, through researching Chinese mother tongue reading materials and American mother tongue reading materials in view of postmodern course, self-consciously analyzing and comparing the similarities and differences in Chinese and American mother tongue reading materials. I hope that these analysis and compare can afford some use for reference to our homeland's mother tongue reading materials. At the same, this dissertation draws some conclusions which are of personal opinions and hopes these crude remarks may be drawn forth by abler people in further researchers.This principle part of the dissertation is divided into four sections as following: The first section is about seven concepts contacting with mother tongue reading materials; the second section is about the view of postmodern course. In this section, I will generalize the new characteristics of mother tongue course's matter of postmodern course, supporting some theories for the next section; the third section is mainly about the similarities and differences of Chinese experimental teaching material and The Reader's Choice; the last section is to post what American mother tongue reading materials can afford for our mother tongue reading materials.
