Today,open innovation is becoming more and more obvious,enterprises are increasingly relying on close cooperation between innovation entities such as peer companies,suppliers,customers,universities,research institutions,sharing technical knowledge,balancing internal and external innovation resource relationships,and seeking sustainable development.With the deepening of the cooperative relationship between enterprises and different types of innovation subjects,the links and role mechanisms for enterprises to absorb external knowledge are becoming more and more complicated,and it is urgent to re-examine and think.Since the concept of absorptive capacity was born in the 1990 s,scholars have explained it from different fields and disciplines,and have not yet formed a unified understanding.The concept of absorptive capacity is not consistent,so that the role and mechanism of absorptive capacity in the process of enterprise innovation are also different.Especially under the condition of open innovation,it is more necessary to re-understand and define the connotation of absorptive capacity in the cooperative relationship between different types of innovation subjects,so that companies can use external knowledge more effectively and improve innovation capacity.Based on the traditional concept of absorptive capacity,this paper redefines the connotation of absorptive capacity and proposes the concept of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity.From the perspective of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity,this paper builds a theoretical model of the impact of multi-type innovation subject cooperation relationship on corporate innovation performance through theories of resource dependence,transaction costs,network relationships,social cognition,and dynamic capabilitie,use case study,questionnaire and structural equation,hierarchical regression,threshold regression and other methods to verify this theory model,reveal the role mechanism of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity on the innovation performance of enterprises in different types of innovative subject cooperation.The research content of this paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the research basis,mainly chapters 1 and 2.The mind map system is used to sort out the research progress of multi-type innovation subject cooperation relationship,absorptive capacity,and enterprise innovation performance to prepare for the construction of a theoretical framework.The second part is the theoretical model and mechanism research,mainly chapters 3 and 4.Define the concept of multi-type innovation subject cooperation relationship and the binary attribute of absorptive capacity,and through exploratory multi-case analysis,construct a theoretical model of the impact of multi-type innovation subject cooperation relationship on corporate innovation performance with the binary attribute of absorptive capacity as the mediating variable,highlighting the regulatory role of industry and environmental characteristics,develop the scale of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity,and design of questionnaires.The third part is impact analysis,mainly chapters 5,6,and 7.The structural equation model is used to verify the impact of multi-type innovation subject cooperation relationship on the innovation performance of enterprises with the binary attribute of absorptive capacity as the intermediary,and the use of hierarchical regression to analyze the external environmental regulation effect and threshold regression to verify the industry regulation effect.Finally,put forward countermeasures and suggestions on the cultivation of absorptive capacity.The research finds that different types of cooperation between innovation entities have different impacts on enterprise innovation performance.Among them,the cooperative relationship between enterprises and suppliers and customers,the cooperative relationship between enterprises and universities and scientific research institutions have a direct and indirect positive impact on the innovation performance of enterprises.The cooperative relationship between enterprises and universities and scientific research institutions has a higher degree of influence.The cooperative relationship between a company and its peers has a direct negative and indirect positive impact on the innovation performance of the company.The key factor of this difference is the different mechanism of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity.The effect of the cooperative relationship between enterprises,suppliers and customers on the actual absorptive capacity is more obvious,and the actual absorptive capacity plays a part of the intermediary role.The effect of the cooperative relationship between enterprises and their counterparts on the potential absorptive capacity is more obvious,and the potential absorptive capacity plays a full mediating role in it.The cooperative relationship between enterprises and universities and research institutions has the most profound influence on the binary attribute of absorptive capacity,and the binary attribute of absorptive capacity plays a part of the mediating role.In the cooperative relationship between enterprises and suppliers,and the cooperative relationship between enterprises and peer enterprises,the government has a clear regulating effect on the actual mediating role of absorptive capacity.Intermediary agencies have a clear moderating effect on the intermediary role of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity in multi-type innovative subject cooperation relationships.In addition,the impact of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity is constrained by industry attributes.Among them,the binary attribute of the absorptive capacity of medium and low-tech industries is high,especially the potential absorptive capacity is higher,while the binary attribute of absorptive capacity of high-tech industries is low.The innovation of this paper is as follows: First,the binary attribute of absorptive capacity is proposed.Redefine the absorptive capacity process in the context of open innovation,and combine the process characteristics to summarize and refine the binary attribute,namely the potential absorptive capacity and the actual absorptive capacity,where the potential absorptive capacity reflects the internalization of the absorptive capacity and the actual absorptive capacity emphasizes the externalization of the absorptive capacity.Secondly,construct a theoretical model of the impact of multi-type innovative subject cooperation relationship on the innovation performance of enterprises with the binary attribute of absorptive capacity as the mediating variable,and reveal the mechanism of the binary attribute of absorptive capacity on corporate innovation performance in different types of cooperation relationships.Third,develop a scale for the binary attribute of absorptive capacity.Drawing on the existing Chinese and English scales of absorptive capacity,we redesigned the scale to measure the
