Remanufacturing has developed rapidly in the world in recent years due to its advantages in saving resources, reducing energy consumption, and reducing costs. However, different types of remanufactured products have different market structures and competitive environments due to industry barriers. From the perspective of production,in higher entry barrier industries, the remanufacturing competition for automobile engine usually occurs between existing enterprises, such as the competition between original manufacturers; In lower entry barrier industries, the remanufacturing competition for cell phone usually occurs between manufacturers and third-party remanufacturers. From the perspective of sales, different remanufactured products face different sales competition environment. For example,in recent years, with the increasing of car ownership, there is a phenomenon of sales competition between manufacturers and dealers in the automobile industry. For mobile phone industry, gray goods and third-party refurbished products, and remanufactured products are widely distributed throughout the world. As a result, there are many types and numbers of enterprises in the low barrier industries, forming a coexistence and complex supply chain.Based on the market competition structure and characteristics of remanufactured products in the high entry barrier industry and the low entry barrier industry, the study use consumer utility theory, game theory, optimization theory and other methods to bulid competition models in the high entry barrier industry and low entry barrier industry, and studies the optimal decision-making and the impact of remanufacturing on supply chain in different competitive market environments.Firstly,in view of the phenomenon of competition between manufacturers in the high entry barrier industries supply chain, such as automobile engines supply chain.Chapter 3develop two models to derive the conditions under which one manufacturer implements remanufacturing and two manufacturers implement remanufacturing in a duopoly situation and analyze the influence of remanufacturing on quantity, price, corporate profits, consumer surplus, and the environmental pollution. The results show that only when the sum of the remanufacturing subsidy and the cost savings of remanufactured products met certain conditions, the duopoly will implement remanufacturing.Remanufacturing can increase the remanufacturer's profit, total consumer surplus in two-period,and leads to a better outcome for the environment if the unit pollution of remanufacturing is low enough. In addition,if the value of the remanufacturing subsidy is high and the cost savings of remanufactured products is large, remanufacturing can increase the supply of new products and reduce the selling price in the first period, but does not affect the price of new products in the second period. When only one firm adopts remanufacturing, remanufacturing could bring competitive advantage for remanufacturer in terms of marketshare and profit, and if the sum of the remanufacturing subsidy and the cost savings of remanufactured products is large enough, the remanufacturer will monopolize the first period market.Secondly,in view of the phenomenon of the "trade old for new" of dealers and "trade old for remanufactured" of manufacturers in automotive engine industry,Chapter 4 develop four supply chain models in a supply chain system consisting of a manufacturer and a dealer to investigate impact of "trade old for remanufactured" on supply chain and to explore the effects of the dealer's "trade old for new" and manufacturer's "trade old for remanufactured" interaction. The research shows that the manufacturer's "trade old for remanufactured" strategy can increase the profit of the dealer. The dealer's "trade old for new" strategy can increase the profit of the manufacturer;Dealers' "trade old for new" strategy is a win-win strategy, which not only increases their own profits, but also increases manufacturers' profits.Thirdly,in view of the widespread gray market and band owner remanufacturing in the low entry barrier industries such as the mobile phone industry,Chapter 5 explore the optimal product decision when consumers have different perceived quality of parallel imports and remanufactured products in a supply chain system that contains a brand owner and a parallel importer.By establishing parallel importer market invasion model under remanufacturing and no remanufacturing scenarios,Chapter 5 analyze the interplay between remanufacturing and parallel imports. It is found that no matter how consumers perceive the quality of the remanufactured products, remanufacturing can help brand owner cope with gray markets;the market invasion of parallel importers will promote the remanufacturing of brand owner. In addition, when remanufacturing cost saving degree is relatively low,the higher the perceived quality of the remanufactured products, the lower the price of the parallel import products, the smaller the parallel imports, and the lower the profit of the parallel importer. In view of the gray market and third-party remanufactured products in the mobile phone industry,Chapter 6 develop parallel imports models without remanufacturing and with remanufacturing for a supply chain with a manufacturer,a parallel importer and a third-party remanufacturer. The purpose of Chapter 6 is to analyze the impact of third-party remanufacturing on the manufacturer and the parallel importation in cross-regional trade.Consumer perceived quality for new product, remanufacturing product and parallel import are also taken into account. It is found that the entry of a third-party remanufacturer always benefit to the consumer who in the export region and may lead to a higher profit for the manufacturer. The parallel importer's profits are hurt by the presence of third-party remanufacturer, thus the entry of third-party remanufacturer can help manufacturer cope with gray markets. However, the lower the perceived quality of remanufacturing product is,the higher the manufacturers' profits are.
